Default HFC frustration! HR sob..

I finally found a descent pair of berk hfc for the hr for a reasonable price, they get lost in the mail for a month. I finally get them via ups... 3 difference places wont install cats, so I finally find one. So 6 hours later I leave with stock cats on. They couldnt get the last bolt off on the driver side cat. 2 guys working on it for about 3 hours. They broke 3 sockets, and he told me he stayed 2 hours later than he should have and the only way for him to reach it would have been to disconnect the rack and pinion which would cost 170 more in labor...

Took it to another place my friend told me about and guy told me 275... then dropped it to 200 and said bolts and gaskets on him. Great except he told me the cats are shot because the honeycomb inside moves a little bit when you flip them upside down. Ughh, Berk told me theyre warrantied for a year but for the original owner. The original owner sold them because of the hesitation problem when in a high gear and giving it a lot of gas. I'm thinking maybe thats the problem why it happened, not sure...

Looks like I'm gonna slap them on and hope for the best...

I know how you feel bro, I had the same problem when we took mine off. Just the cats alone took 3 hours. We ended up using the blow torch to heat that sucker up then unscrewing the bolt at the same time....lots of hard work and danger involved but we got all bolts off successfully. You should give that a shot.

Installing HFCs was a b*tch, for sure. Mine took about 2 hours, as well.

lol the honeycomb is what makes it a cat rather than a straight pipe.... well it would sound funny probably... and you would throw a cel and waste money. Well see what my paycheck looks like, the guy I spoke to was like trust me, you need anything done, I can do it.. I believe it only because some people have done it at home lol...Well see, payday thursday
