Single with a fartcan just furthers the stereotype that the Z is the new Civic IMO.

Depending on your tastes of what "sounds good",a single will be right for you.
Appearance wise,IMO...spells to all who see...ricer.Really screws up the looks of the rear of the car. From a clean intergrated exhaust to something that looks like it was slapped
on from Auto Zone.

Not the one you were asking. But I am running a Greddy single, motordyne y pipe and test pipes and it sounds great! It's not overly loud and stupid and doesn't get raspy until 4500 rpm and up and even then it's nothing compared to rasp I have heard from other Zs.

I've been told by many it's one of the best sounding cars they've ever heard. Only downside I would say is ground clearance. Greddy hangs pretty low, I scrape it from time to time and I'm at stock height with 19's

I've never had a true dual but after hearing a few of them I never would own one.

Motordyne also had an article somewhere on this forum explaining how scavenging and such works and they said a single usually has the best power gains with the right tune

Search, seeing we've had this discussion a million times! Both are greats ways to go. Dual looks better naturally. Single sounds just as good if not better depending on the setup. I have a single setup and will only switch for Motordyne nothing else is worth my time or money.

I have a Greddy single, stock Y pipe with Turbo XS non-res test pipes. I love the sound, it actually has little to no rasp. Just very deep and loud.

It is more rare to see a single on a Z and although some may find it ricer I don't particularly care what anyone else thinks of my car. The weight is practically nothing compared to stock. Also, I am fairly low on 19s and have never scraped the can or resonator box; the Y-pipe is the lowest part of the car.

Most exhausts are single anyways, if you have a y pipe, the rest is just to keep the dual appearance the z comes with. So it really don't matter what it is if there's a Y-pipe. It's personal preference really.

Amuse R1 Titan her, love it.

Are there any single exhausts that are actually quieter than some of the louder dual exhausts? I have the injen true dual with Berk test pipes and its really loud, I like the single exhausts (doesn't look ricey to me at all) but i wouldn't switch if its going to be even louder then my current set up. I'm getting over the dual look now that all these luxury sedans and grocery getters are coming with dual exit exhausts from the factory.

Last june I installed this exoticspeed R1-T PWR exhaust, it's a single pipe back from the y-pipe but a dual muffler/tip at the rear.
The sound is amazing, IMO one of the best sounding exhaust hands down!

singles are way too loud imo. if you'd rather have that deep low exhaust note vs that high pitched ear drum bursting exhaust note, then your best bet is a dual/true dual exhaust. if not, then single. i have 2 local friends with singles and they are ridiculously loud. i've got an hks true dual replica, with berk test pipes, and headers and i love the sound.

Singles are too loud imo. I'd prefer duals because it look more balanced on the rear and sounds deeper.

I like the weight of the single exhaust, nice and light.

I had an HKS true duel exhaust and I traded it for an Agency Power single with a Stillen y-pipe. I had Fast Intention Resonated Test Pipes with both exhausts. As far as sound, the agency power is waaaaaaay louder! Like so loud that it will most defiantly hurt your ears if you are getting on it for awhile at a time. However i get compliments on the sound of it all the time. As far as looks, It really grew on me. It a very aggressive look that screams performance. The HKS exhaust looked very good as well though. I get compliments on the titanium look of both exhausts. And lastly as far as performance, its pretty much the same when you are still NA. One downfall to a single exhaust is that most are only axle-back, meaning that they do not come with an upgraded y-pipe.

It is a tough decision, you could always get one and switch to the other if you want a change. As far as the single exhausts i would recommend would be the Agency Power or if you could find it a Momentum Single. If you go with Dual and plan to go FI I would most certainly get the GTM 3". But if you plan to stay NA the best choices are the HKS and the Motordyne.
