Default Heat Shield installation for Injen Intake

I just got my Injen CAI today. I installed it but I dont know how to install the heat shield. I thought I saw a post on this before but since I cant find it I would like to ask if anyone has put the heat shield in their car. How do you put that darn thing on?!?! Thanks!

The INJEN heat shield installs directly over the stock shield. Use a 10 mm socket(preferably with a long extension) to loosen the bolts on the stock shield. The 1st bolt is pretty easy to get at. But the rear one closes to the back of the engine can be a bear. So be prepared to use a open end 10mm wrench.

If the extention does not work for both bolts, consider a small "finger ratchet" with the 10mm socket on it. Worked for me, although it is a bear either way.

I'm in Campbell close to the Valley Fair Mall or Santana Row. You should come out to the meet next weekend on the 19th in San Mateo. Check the NorCal Forum about it. If you still haven't installed your heat shield, I can show you how. It's also easier to install the CAI if you remove the bumper. Bumper removal is also a snap if you have the right tools.

I went out and bought the best investment in tools you can make for the 350z and that was a metric wrench set that has the closed end ratchet built into the wrench. That has made the mod installations almost easy Well worth the $50 for a nice set. That way you have ratcheting action with a wrench, which also give you a decent amount of leverage in weird, hard to get to areas such as the heat shield.
