Alright,

The Berk HFC is 60mm(pretty sure) the Y-pipe would be 70mm along with the remainder of Mid-pipe and exhuast.

Is there going to be any issues?

Well i didn't run HFC's on mine i ran resonated test pipes. Sounded great, still quiet, not raspy and completely different than a Nismo with test pipes.

This is wrong, the tanabe midpipe does NOT work with a nismo...I was thinking about doing this a few months ago...I just bought a complete nismo instead...Good luck!

I don't understand the comparison either and I wasn't making one in the o.p.

Im asking if anyone has done it or if there will be issues with berk cats(60mm) into 70mm piping of tanabe exhuast and mid-pipe.

call Berk or Z1auto (NY) and ask them the diameter of the Berks. I thought they were 2.5 as opposed to the 2.36 diameter of the Tanabe Y pipe. The Tanabe mid pipe is 70mm
so essentially you want a 60 mm HFC to use with the T y pipe. If Berk is in fact 60 mm (2.36) then you will have zero issue with flow. If they (Berk HFC's) are 2.5 i'm not sure what to expect since the stock headers are closer to 2.36 if not 2.36

essentially a good Tanabe setup would be as follows!
HFC's or test pipes of ur choice 60mm - Tanabe Y pipe = 60mm merges to 70 mm -Tanabe mid pipe = 70 mm - exhaust inlet = 70 mm

Which Y-pipe did you go with Tanabe or Another?

do you have any clips?

I want to avoid the rasp for a clean awesome exhaust like the Tanabe.

Tanabe Y pipe, and for the price buy the motordyne XYZ its a much better product.

Sound clips, never have and never will post them. They never sound the same as in person.

dude ur thinking too much into it...just get the berk high flow cats if u want high flows and put them on, u wont have rasp with that setup, and if by some slight chance u do get rasp or want it deeper and cleaner get the motordyne xyz w/ resonator..the motordyne xyz is the best y pipe money can buy and worth every penny, i love mine, i dont rasp with berk test pipes with my xyz w/ resonator and nismo mid and tail section but had rasp with my normal nismo y pipe

Well,

Just dropped 1400+ bucks on this plus HFC's and Spacer, so we'll see how it sounds without the Y-pipe for now.

Anyone install HFC's and exhaust themselves? Can I do it with Just a floor jack and two ramps or no?

Nice. If possible please measure or let us know if they are in fact 60mm. I have been getting ready to order a set of Tomei test pipes because they are 60mm but if the HFC's are 60mm i'll grab those instead.. No rush for me since the Z is under 2 ft. of snow

Almost positive it is 60mm but I'll measure, and be a Guinea pig for this set-up.

Can't believe noone on here has this configuration..?

floor jack is fine..ramps prolly are too but i cant get on ramps..hard enough getting a jack under my car..be ready to get bruised up knuckles swapping the cats, have extensions and bars to put on the end of the socket for extra leverage handy

I got a question about the pipping size of the berk HFC... i have AAM y-pipe and it is 2.5" and goes to 3"... The berk HFC are 2.36". Would there be any problems with this setup?

Yeah if you could do that I'd appreciate it. Did you experience any hiss from the hfc's with your set up that you recall?

For now im Im going to use the stock Y-pipe until i can find a used aftermarket or HR Y-pipe.

Im sure the hfc's increased the decibal level a bit huh?

How was the drone?

While I don't have the Touring edition I have the Tanabe Hyper Medallion. I have it matched up with the Tanabe Y-Pipe and the Berk HFC's. The HFC's matched up just fine to the Stock & Tanabe Y-Pipe. The HFC's do provide some hiss and they also produce very little rasp when WOT. The exhaust note is loud enough to phase out the rasp. Overall its an amazing sounding exhaust.

Ha ha ha..

So I went to go attempt to put this on with only two ramps.

Taking the oem rear section off with no room is a *****. I get that off and I hadn't looked at the midpipe to compare. The oem did not mate up with the Tanabe...argh.

I was putting it on temporarily because my buddy(with proper tools bailed).

After spending about 2 hours wrestling with the rubber hangers removing the oem, I had to put it back since I didnt have clearance to reach mid-pipe.

I had to laugh..
