Default 03 z hfc

So I'm getting my HKS installed on monday with megan test pipes (pretty much free) but have a feeling I'm going to want to swap them for some HFC. Never really planed on getting tp, hfc but that all changed very quickly. Correct me if I'm wrong I'm trying to learn about the differences.

TP = louder, more power, more rasp, smell
HFC = not as loud, power increase but not as much as tp, little to no rasp, usually no smell.

If those are correct I am leaning towards HFC but hear of problems of rasp on some along with cracking issues. Recommendations? Have heard maybe more good things on Stillen and Berk.

No issues here with the Stillen, and it sounds great with the HKS ( I have the same setup ), although I do have the HR if that makes a difference...sound-wise.

Any good quality vid of yours? Any rasp on your setup at all? Any smell? How much did those run you?

I've got some half-way decent vids from the track, but none that you can really hear the exhaust on. There is a slight "rasp", but overall the combination sounds very good. I haven't noticed any rich smell with the setup, and you'd be better off looking up prices on the setup because I got the HFC's at dealer price from a friend in the biz...

Overall very satisfied with it. Highly recommended.

Any comments on either of these? Ultimate Racing has another HFC for $100 and its Efficient to 700 hp instead of just 450. I don't plan on getting even close to 450 anyways. Input? I don't want anything to loud and I am really really hoping to get rid of as much rasp if not all of it if possible.

What do you guys think/know about Crawford HFC. Another member is trying to sell me some new ones for $440 they appear to sell online for about $500-$600. This is what someone else told me about them.

"+1 on the Crawford HFC's...they have more elements than most HFC's so they won't rasp like the other one's...I had them on my car..."

The Ultimate Racing ones have always been our go-to choice for cats for Z's and G's since 2003. They've always performed well, fit without incident, and performed admirably. We intentionally stay away from the others for a variety of reasons.

You can save some $ by getting them from us (we're an authorized dealer) vs from UR, as we offer free shipping in the US and Canada on their cats.

Metal: http://z1auto.com/prodmore.asp?model...st&prodid=2747

All are hand welded, one by one, at UR's facility in Canada. No rebadged made in god-knows-where-units, no cheesy "it's a resonator that we're calling a cat" mislabelling. They simply fit and work as advertised

quick question guys, if all of these are cat delete pipes, hfc's are still cat-delete, that would mean there would be smells regardless, right...??? i had resonated test pipes before and went to stillen hfc's and couldn't tell a difference...

so "smell" shouldn't be affected right, i mean that is basically what the stock cat's were for
