Plenum + Headers + Cats + Borla Dyno

For your road racers, this will be the power you need when you're having to have torque leaving the corners.
If you want a set of products just to create PEAK numbers... there are PLENTY out there. Just realize, if that's what you want... Crawford's isn't for you.
I was expecting the number to be better than that. Maybe without the cats, the number will be a bit better. I got the XERD headers( catless, full length) , Borla, and AEM cai give me 21 WHP and 18 WTQ. The only problem is the sound of the headers
. I will get my Crawford plenum this week and will dyno once more b-4 putting my car away. Due to the raspiness sound of the headers, I'm thinking to get this Crawford package. Over all nice gain though.

k... from looking at your dyno - these numbers are VERY mis-leading. I want you to know.
A dyno operator can have the smoothing set to 0, which is going to be VERY spikey. In turn can give a very unreal number +2-5 from what I have seen. You want it set to 3, this gives a nice smooth average. This is what all our numbers reflect.
Your MAX HP & ft-lbs on smooth 0 was, 243 and 235... yet on 3 was 238 and 234. Big difference!
What are your mods again? These are the numbers that Doug was laying down with just a plenum, so if you're similar to that. Your numbers sound about right. What did you baseline by the way?
Smooth @ 0

Smooth @ 3 - See the difference? Less JAGGED numbers... far more realistic numbers.

I think the benefits of the package are evident to those who know what's really important; I've never seen a dyno with gains that consistant accross the entire powerband in HP and TQ. You guys did an awesome job.
My earlier question still stands, however: How much is the Borla contributing to the overall gains? I know just about everybody who mods gets rid of the stock exhaust pretty early in the process, but I like to stay as stealth as possible. What can I expect if I choose to stick with the stock exhaust?
And remember: if you guys need an FX for a test bed for fit and function of the headers, I'm your man! In the meantime, I guess I got to start *****-in' myself to save up for those puppies!

Honestly... I drove his Z NUMEROUS times with the Borla.
To me the Borla made NOTHING on the *** dyno. Sounds nice, that's about it.
Tons of owners have reported MINIMAL gains just strapping it on. Though lets be honest, the Borla may have a SMALL amount more gain when mated with high-flow cats and these headers.
Point made... is by themselves it wasn't a concern for us to take the exhaust off.
We were more eager to see what a true I/H/E package would make.
This is nearly every bolt-on you can currently buy. (Note we RESENT intakes
) - These are REAL world numbers.
btw - About your FX, I'm DYING to pay the Z off so I can get one for a daily driver. Feel free to send your FX up here for me, errr... I mean for Doug to look at!

Not really... Look where horsepower was ADDED.
The plenum took care of TOP end power, now let's make more down low - and introduce torque across the board. The focus here was improving the powerband! There are ZERO mods that improve torque like these headers are doing. PERIOD.
For THAT it's worth it.
Hell... if you want just peak numbers... you might want a different set of parts. You want POWER, you might want to consider laughing again.

Thanks The INDIVIDUAL. I found soemthing weird about the dynojet reader. On my computer it reads differently and on others it reads slightly different. The base I ran with AEM and Borla gave me 227 WHP and 217 WTQ.

See that is the problem with the logic throughout this thread...
We can't use... header will gain x HP. That's a silly notion and false advertising in my opinion.
It WILL NOT gain x HP in every application.
On a stock car, it will get A
On a car with a plenum, it will get B
On a car with a plenum and high flow cats, it will get C
Point being made... why lie?
Why say the exhaust will make X horsepower, when it may possibly make more or less depending on the parts you already have?
People know what the Borla exhaust have made... so that did not impact our judgement of dyno'g as such.
No exhausts, nor mods... have given ANY major gain down low.
By bolting on the headers, those exhausts aren't going to magically start making power in that area!
Bottom-line - These headers have altogether changed the powerband of this car! It's FAR more lively and responsive. Now that she's breathing this well - I THINK it's time for cams!

That's a bit more than I want to get into, though. I think I'll stick NA. This beast is already fast; I've surprised a few lil' Hondas already. Sports car with a backpack, baby!

It is not false advertising when you explain the numbers. I do not understand how hard it would have been since you had a vehicle with the Plenum, cats and exhaust on it to have a dyno before and after the headers to give use a better understanding of why we should send you $1300 for your headers Vs. sending $XXX to Xerd or $XXX to NISMO. Honestly, it makes me wonder if you actually have those dynos aleady but are afraid to show them. I think your product looks great and will perform, but your cost is higher than some of the other options and people will want to know why they should invest in your product over another.

REMEMBER THIS... EVERY PART MADE GOES INTO OUR OWN Zs. You think we would dare produce a product we're not proud of running ourselves??? Each product makes power and hits a level that we are proud of.
Though seriously, you seem sold on the NISMO and the XERDs on this one-off... I would recommend you get those. In buying the plenum I would have figured you understood our philosophy... we make power or we SCRAP the project.
The install on the headers takes nearly a full day... they were put on the car and final test fitted. There was ZERO interest in taking them off, dynoing... putting them back on... dyno'g. Too much time lost - Borla exhaust didn't effect anything that much.
The headers ARE entering production, I for one will have a set on my car VERY soon. They are AMAZING.
If you don't believe us... please fly down. You will have a free place to stay, we will be happy to let you partake in the beverage for which the shop enjoys!
Then you can drive Dougs car as much as you want. Can NISMO, XERO, Brand X, etc... post up dynos for you? Can they offer you a car to test drive BEFORE you buy the parts?
Come on... let's get serious. They made GREAT power. Period.
