Injen intakes

Hey guys I have a questions about two injen intakes. The sp1986p model is made for the 350z but does the SP1993P model for the g35 have any fitment issues on a Z? I am planning to use it as a short ram. So i want to see if they are the same.

Out of curiosity, cant the Z version be converted to short ram as well? Why not go that route if your dead set on this intake?

because when converted to short ram the one for the g sits a little lower than the one for the z.
