Thank you for this awesome thread...This was my closing decision between HKS and the Motordyne. I installed my TDX V2 and ART Pipes all day yesterday with my friend and all I can say is WOW. The sound is amazing. IMO I think its one of the best set-ups for a Z.

Thread coming soon

What was your setup prior to the ART pipe installation?

Yes thank you very muchy onagao for this thread!! I've been researching these boards and saving up for an exhaust that suits my needs for the past two years, and this just sealed the deal.

Just shopping around for the best price to get one of these now

I installed my 3" true dual on my vortech SC 06 back in june..tony is AWESOME to work with...just a coool dude!

Anyway, with the setup on my sc, I could only idle or use very small throttle openings around police on the freeways..*** soo as I would come to an uphill, Id have to apply throttle and then, man, this things opens up and howls!!! My setup was VERY loud but sounds like a ferrari..if it werent for the popo problems, Id leave it alone...I did have igh flow cats

Eventually, I decided to add active tail silencers into the straight cut Ti tips (rounded tips too small need the 115mm ats for 3" pipes) I had bought the rounded tips and Tony resent the straight cut overnite at NO CHARGE! TKS Tony!

The ATS has a spring loaded silencer, that at low pressure, allows about a 1.5 inch opening...at around 4000 rpm, the spring is collapsed and the exhausst is opened up to allow full flow ...it is a little quieter at WOT but its a LOT quieter at low to mid throttle positions...JUST WHAT I NEEDED!

Tony, I still want those fully Ti mufflers you built! PLEASE!

Haven't clicked on the vid but I can still hear my friends car flying by me/starting up/downshifting...

Truly the best dual exhaust for the Z!

Nice Set Up...now IDK if i still want to get an HKS Dual Cat Back or The Motordyne TDX... They both sound clean to me...and the layout looks clean too.

What he said ^ I'm going Motordyne all the way. I currently have test pipes and plan to keep it...I do enjoy a loud, powerful exhaust...would anyone recommend the straight pipe section for the TDX2? Any videos of it out there? I figured it would sound plenty good with test pipes, but was only curious as to what the difference might be substituting the straight pipe section in place of the muffler

I'm guessing you're talking about the mid-pipe section? If so, the TDX component goes there and the replaces the straight pipe.

TDX2 with ART pipes. I had already posted it on another thread.

<VIDEO>
I think he's referring to the midpipe section and the possibility of replacing it with a simple straight pipe - something I wouldn't recommend. (I'm assuming that because this thread already shows my car with both ART Pipes and TDX V2...)
