Default Magnaflow X Pipe

I was browsing the net and came across this http://www.autoanything.com/exhausts...A2672A0A0.aspx . I know a lot of people have used Magnaflow 11386 muffler x pipe design, but wouldn't this provide a more true x pipe and also be better for the performance a real x pipe gives? What's everyone's thoughts?

most people use the muffler to take the rasp out of their cheaper exhausts, im not sure if this would have the same effect or not, im guessing not though

dont know how this differs from 11386, but yes, welding this x pipe into your h pipe will reduce rasp and mellow out the sound. I think its commonly used with the xo2 or hks duals. Heard it also helps a bit with torque, overall a good thing to weld on to your exhaust.

do you know of anybody that has used an x pipe and gotten rid of the resonators in the exhaust? im talking about a straight through x pipe, not an x pipe muffler

The performance difference between an X pipe and resonated X is minimal. Maybe1-2HP. You should care more about the sound difference. If your looking for a smoother deeper more mellow sound go with the Res X. If you want an aggressive in your face race car sound go with what you posted.

11386 isn't necessarily a "fake" xpipe. I would assume it would give the same performance gain as an unresonated x pipe. If you want to use that design just copy the ARK design. Zazz did the same thing with that pipe and mounted it after the stock resonators I believe, the drone on the exhaust originally was unbearable and I never even drove it on the highway, I can't imagine how bad it must have been if I had. I will admit I wish my exhaust was a bit louder now that I put 11386 in my HKS replica but the sound is much less ricer now. I'd probably go this route and get HFC or Test pipes down the road if you're in a state where you won't get screwed for it. Even HFC is illegal is cali. I'm hoping that down the road when I get the mrev2 and 5/16th spacer that it will change the sound a volume level a bit.

Wsup Gentlemen.
I would like to post our ARK signature X flow mid pipe w dual resonators to let the G and Z community know what is out there. To be quite honest I feel as though they are asking a tad bit too much for a make shift x pipe. Our x pipe is truly second to none on the market. The complete Grip exhausts systems is constructed with 100% SUS 304 stainless steel. Our x flow pipe is guaranteed to give you a noticeable rumble as well as an extra Kick during High revolutions. To be quite honest the type of steel as well as thickness will truly affect your cars tone. When implemented with our dual canister cat back exhaust system drone is reduced to almost nothing. Even our resonators were designed specifically for this reason.

I am sure you mean the "Z" community and you might want to do a spell check as well

There are many places such as SP engineering in City of Indutry,CA.
That will install your stock set up then run the dyno for you. Then vise versa. The prrof is in the dyno. If you do decide to do so remember the best time to shoot a dyno is on a fair weather day.

We actually did 2 runs compared back to back with a Nismo Exhaust.
Red line would be the v2 Grip
Blue line is Nismo. If you do happen to get your set up dynoed, Please post.

^^i have no plans of doing such a dyno test. The first time it hits the dyno it will most likely be for a tune. I can however tell you if my trap speed goes up. Before the addition of the x pipe, test pipes and new spec twin clutch my best trap was 105.3mph. I should be making it back to the track before the season ends.

What I did not see anyone mention is that the muffler xpipe not only takes care of rasp in dual exhaust. Not just in cheap ones as i have seen them used in hks, bolra, injen and fi intemidator. it brings out the vq note you get from the stock exhaust. Which is a very good sound just very restrictive. Ark most people cut those crap *** resonators out running thru the middle to install the magnaflow xpipe. those resonators every use suck very badly and maybe yourself and others might want to look into this design.
