Front Right Turn Signal Mystery
I have an 04 Z33. Replaced the old headlights with a previous owner's hack job of an HID upgrade. Now I have SpecD Projectors with LED bulbs & ballasts, absolutely plug 'n play. Before the upgrade, my front right hi beam, side marker, & turn signal bulbs started acting up. I checked and saw that since I had lost my fender liner ( has since been replaced) my wheel ground off the bulkhead connector from the light housing to the wiring harness. I replaced both male and female connectors with butt connectors, but nothing changed; by this time the blinker had completely went out instead of occasionally working like it did (bulb and fuses seem to be good). Now with the SpecD headlights equipped with the new ballasts everything lights up and works except the turn signal, now it lights up but won't blink. I haven't been able to locate the relay location for this specific turn signal and I'm also new to using a multimeter so I might have missed a few possibilities (relay, faulty wiring, etc.) But I hope to get some insight on things I've missed or overlooked, thanks boyz🍻
Everything was working as it should nxt thing you know I went to make a right turn and it just went out started blinking fast. Everything lights up but the blinker. I had recently changed the ballast (got 2 OEM ones from the junkyard basically brand new lol) so I figured it had went out so I changed it again to the back up one I got and Everything worked fine blinker and all for about 30 mins and only the blinker went out again. Still trying to figure this out if anyone can help. Thanks!

If you have a blinker issue, changing the ballast won't impact anything. If you have hyperflashing, that simply means your bulb is either burned out or the computer isn't detecting the correct amount of load on the circuit, which is typical of improperly installed/spec-ed LED blinker bulbs.
I recommend inspecting the blinker bulb & socket. Make sure there's no corrosion. Depending on the year of your Z, the wiring will change for the headlights, best to start your post with some more detail about your vehicle.
Note: The blinker module is part of the BCM or ECM, it cannot be fixed without replacing the entire module. Wiring diagrams can be found in the FSM, which can be downloaded for free off the interwebs.
Good Luck!

I have the spec-d sequential headlights so the blinker is the same led strip that lights up white just switches to orange and flashes so I don't think a bulb is the problem bc it still lights up white just doesn't change to orange like it should anymore and yeah hyper flashing on the dash when I switch the right blinker on.
Thanks for the reply
Probably a loose connection somewhere in the headlight wiring harness connector - likely a ground wire. I'm guessing that when you changed the ballast, you inadvertently bent some pin or tightened up some loose connection so that everything functioned properly, but then it shorted out again. Recheck all the connections and clean up the connections really well. Check for loose wires/pins going to the connectors.
I have an 06 with the updated projector HID lenses, this translates to a different harness plug for the headlamps (03-05 are different from 06-08). Each headlamp has a specific wire for blinker signal. I suspect there's a problem somewhere with that wire. It could be at the headlamp harness plug or somewhere in the run back to the PCM. Also, could just be your aftermarket headlamp internal wiring/harness.
Cheers!
