Default Order of Torquing Down Exhaust Bolts

Hi guys, as you may know from my other thread called "exhaust rattle", my midpipe rattles because it's hitting the M brace. I tried torquing it down evenly on each flange and pushing up the Y pipe while torquing it down.

I'd like to know what the correct order for torquing down the catback exhaust bolts is so that the flanges and pipes and evenly torqued/balanced.

I have a Nismo S tune Y pipe back exhaust with Motordyne ART pipes and XYZ pipes.

shouldn't matter the order, as long as its done opposite side to opposite side

then it must be that i'm not pushing the y pipe up enough... do you have any suggestions on what i can put underneath the y pipe to keep it pushed up? it's hard to keep it up with my legs and torque at the same time... i do it on jackstands.

you shouldnt need to be pushing anything up or down

you could use another jack, or another jackstand

shouldnt matter which bolts you torque first. However, dont tighten them all the way until you have all the bolts semi tightened. Then go back and re-tighten all of them. When I was installing my y pipe, I accidentally flipped it around, and it didnt fit all that well, then flipped it over and it fit perfectly, so maybe your not bolting it the right way. Also, I used another jackstand to prop the y pipe up so its level with the other components. Either that, or just use a box or something, not that hard to find something to hold it up, or a friend :]

Have you tried a wooden shim?
Put the shim in place.
Tighten the bolts.
Remove shim.
