x pipe mod
so i went to the shop today.. one of my orig XO2 gaskets disenegrated from the nice new hot test pipes.. so thats my exhasut leak for ya.. fixed it up, and im back on my way.. turns out they were thinking of how to put the x pipe in AFTER the h pipe.. i said " aw naw dawg"
jk.
So its going back in in a few days for the X pipe weld up and some o2 fixers.. as long as i can reduce the "blat" out of my WOT I will be happy.. it IS fast as ***** w the test pipes tho... Im gonna get at my buddy in his 997 911 all day now.
The windows down volume is still very loud.

I did read up on alot of the x pipe comments nd what not... just wondering what it looks like koz I don't wanna get the wrong thing... I saw something on performance peddler but Wen I typed in the product number it looked like a muffler came up anyone have pics or kno where I can buy it nd not get the wrong thing... thanx
Ok so here is my question.. I have the godspeed version. The rasp is terrible with the stillen race pipes. Now I don't want the rasp but DO want the volume. Will the x-pipe muffler make it too quite? Or any other suggestions for the rasp? And yes I did the search. Alot of great info if i wanted it to be quite...
well. I just got the magnalfow 11385 installed today. WOW. what a difference in tone. It really does bring back the vq sound while eliminating all of the rasp. The only down side is, it did slightly decrease the volume of the exhaust. But atleast the rasp is completely gone.
Here's where I installed mine. My welding sucks, I know. It's Magnaflow 11386.

It's the eBay brand with Megan resonated test pipes (ART pipes now). The 11386 cut out so much drone on the freeway, it was a night and day difference. Also got rid of the "metallic" sound common with test pipes. Without the 11386, there was rasp and sounded like complete ****. Gives it a nice "tuned" sound and rumble when cruising. I use to cringe when cruising in 6th gear and see a hill ahead.
The H-pipe and resonators are a joke. The X02 H-pipe is about 1/2 inch hole.

Here's the core of the resonators. You can see the core staring to break up and eventually impede flow. Keep in mind there are only a few thousand miles on it.

I know what you mean about the resonators on the exhaust. Mine had less than 1k on it and they were completely aprt inside. I couldn't belive how bad the construction was on the exhaust till I really started to look at it. But hey atleast it sounds good for now.
I have the invidia g200 with res'd test pipes and mine sounds like pure butttt also. The set up looks awesome, but sounds like crap. All the reviews i read on it people were saying how good it sounded, something is wrong with there ears lol. I feel like a ricer now i been reading on doing a h or x pipe set up as well.
cutting out the H-pipe and resonators on the HKS replica is a big section of the exhaust. if the x-pipe mod is done.... will there need to be an extension welded on also? or is the 20 inches from the magnaflow x-pipe enough?
