Default RPMs would not go over 2.5 k

I tried searching for it on forums and google and what not, but nothing helped so far.

So the symptoms and the code reader say it is MAF issue. I bought used 350z MAF, did not work (erased the code, did the computer reset thing, relearn idle air and stuff) did not make a difference except the code would disappear for a second or two.

Took out MAF from my maxima (knowing for sure it works, rather than the used one from Z). put it in did all of the above procedures and still no luck. Some one suggested spraying something like carburator cleaner around the intake manifold to see if there is a lick, and right away 20 people said it is a big no no on our engines cuz it kills the throttle body.

SO... I am out of ideas and kinda said cuz had the car for 3 days and still have not experienced the power of Z!

i think the car might be stuck in limp mode because you might of sucked something in your engine. try looking around on the forums to see if there is a diy on how to reset or something

good luck

Did you wash the engine recently? Sometimes water in a few of those connectors can cause a car to go into limp mode until it dries out.

just bought it about a week ago. its not stock stock... got like intake and exhaust and what not. I have not washed it but the car has been sitting in the impound for a long time. may be rain or snow or something got to it...

@sportbiketed

I did buy used sensor from 350 z and swapped it, did not work but the used sensor could be defective. Also tryed my maxima sensor, but not 100 % sure that it could be used in Zs. (looks identical though) It would be nice to have the actual working Z's MAF to try so if we could arrange it that would be sweet. I live in Maple Grove.

What intake do you have?

I'm free for the next week, so pick a time when you want to meet.

The intake is K&N typhoon. its kinda like a short ram with the filter inclosed into like a abox or something and then another pipe goes down to the grill to catch air and direct it the filter. ill take some pics tomorrow.

The code I wanna say is P 0102, and it says MAF low input or something like that
. returned the code reader earlier today so can not tell for sure.
