I am installing HFC's next week, and was wondering if you need a special tool for the removal of the O2 sensors from the cats, or if a deep socket would work, also does anyone know what size socket it is?

Basic open-ended wrench... forget the size. Simple, don't worry.

There is such a thing as an o2 sensor socket, but an open ended wrench would work just fine. A deep socket wouldn't work due to the wire coming off the sensor.

Its best if the catalytic converter is OFF the car. You can hold it in a vice.

 

Goto Autozone and get the O2 sensor wrench. It's free rental. You're gonna thank me.
Don't bother using a wrench.. i jacked up my O2 sensor that way.

 

Rent an O2 wrench from Oreilly or Autozone.

 

try a quick douching of PB blaster beforehand, in case your O2 sensor is old and the thread have tended to bake onto themselves.
