Saw an install pic earlier today (can't find it now), and the POP installs inside the engine bay, bypassing the cold air port. So now you may have freed up a little HP, but you are now sucking hot air from the engine bay instead of the cool stuff from in front of the rad. Seems like a waste of time. Any HP increases from increased flow are countered by the thinner warm air. At least wait until someone comes up with a way to isolate the POP from the engine bay and use that factory cool air port. This issue might not show on the dynos where the runs could be done with the hood up to mitigate the hot vs cool air issue.
BTW, this POP charger is probably the same unit as the POP for the Maxima. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

It would really be nice if JWT would update their web site a bit more often than once every three years...
I'd like to see what else they have cooking for the Z besides the obligatory pop charger.

I've emailed Jim Wolf and Stillen about the Z 2 months ago and never received an response. What an attitude they have.

For now..
The best way is to drop in a K&N filter and you can still use the factory air box with front cold air intake. This is what I did, noticed a better thottle response.. Also noticed the thottle sound is louder..

I stopped by Ultimate Z by my house this morning. http://www.ultimatez.com/ Chris, the owner had one of these installed in his Daytona Blue Touring. He took me for a very high speed ride and at higher RPM's the sound seemed a bit deeper than stock. He says he's noticed a little extra power. Riding in the car it seemed to be true, but without driving it after driving mine, it would be hard to tell.
For any Chicago people, Chris may be at Bahama Breeze tonight and will definately be at the Speedway event tomorrow.

Chris said they haven't dynoed it yet, but have got higher gains on their 300Zx'es. I may get one in a couple weeks, so I'll post my impressions.

So heat can be an issue. I think the key to making this work as I've seen done to other cars is by making its own box in a way. So basically when you close the hood you have your own air box around the pop charger. I have talked to JWT and they were talking about some kind of splash guard.
Also it is from a Maxima Hopefully I can get the finished product from JWT soon so we can dyno it. I'm hoping to get a Dyno in 2 weeks from now. To compare mainly the JWT set up against the K and N, and I imagine the Blitz one will work too
