Default Differences in OEM Plenums?

I have 2 engines. the one i am removing has a plenum stamped AK CD02. and the one i am putting in has AK CDO1. I have went through photos on my350z and have seen all the way up to 6. i am sure these are different revisions maybe? Can someone tell me the difference? thanks

well what engines do you have.. what years are they from, etc etc. The #2 is a later revision just like the transmissions etc. . I would assume if they made a change, the changed item would be better to use.

Not exactly. Look up the differences between the non-revup and a revup.

OP, you should also look up the differences between the 2 DE variants and you'll find your answer. There are pictures of both plenums open. Tony@Motordyne is also an expert when it comes to our plenums.

It is DE sorry, and it is my 3rd engine, i do not know what year either really are. I could not find anything by the numbers i posted stamped on the side of the plenum. I found that weird. thats why i was hoping someone here could say. The thing i fear is that it came from a murano or maxima or something. I want to make sure i get all the power i can

Are the engines mounted perpendicular to the chassis on the FWD VQ cars? I don't think the plenums would fit, but don't quote me on this.

One easy way to tell between the 2 DE plenums is to open them up and look at the intake runners. If the tops of the intake runners are round-ish, then it's a revup. If the tops are more flat (squarish), then it's a non-revup. If the runners, especially the front 2, seem to have been filed/sanded down, it's most likely the MRev2 (Motordyne).

I guess I read wrong, but you still FAIL as revups didn't only exist on the 06's.

I didn't curse at you, you don't need to be cursing. No need to be a douche to someone trying to help you. I already gave you all the info you need. You're the one who wants to be spoonfed all the answers.

im actually looking for someone who knows what the differences in the 2 plenums. kind of like the different versions of transmissions in the 350z. however, there is plenty of info on the transmission revisions, none that i can find of the plenums.

That was my original question. not whether or not it is a revup. I want to know if they changed the airflow or made one slightly taller than the first. i cannot seem to tell just by looking at them. they look identical.

So, if all you know is that the plenums are from 03-05 model Z/Gs, how do you know that it's not a revup? I already told you that revups came on non-06s (and an easy way to distinguish between revup and nonrevup), specifically the MT Anniversary Editions and Track models.

As far as I know, the non-revup plenum did not change, but I could be wrong on this one.

All i know is when i originally bought the engine 3 years ago, it was sold as a non-revup engine with 10k miles.

I am aware of the 2005 z had the 35th anniv was a revup. was the track as well? i cant remember. All i know is, it was advertised as a non-revup. and that is what all i have today

Yea, it was both the 6MT AE and the Track that were the first revups. Did you open up the plenum to compare the intake runners?

Honestly, the BEST person to contact about this would be Tony @ Motordyne. If you haven't done so already, you might want to message him and see if he can help.
