Default New to 350z Mods, need advice about test pipes and CEL

Hello! I've been a long time lurker of this forum, but never posted much as I haven't really done anything to my car besides a AVIC deck and NISMO CAI.

Well here's my story, I bought a brand new 350z A/T Touring in very late 2005, I didn't modify anything because I was waiting for the warranty to expire, but I paid for the extended and had to wait a couple more years. Fast forward to now it's 2011 and my car has been out of warranty for some months, but I didn't really have any intentions of modifing anything until recently.

My co worker totalled his Z and he had a bunch of parts he never used that he was letting go for cheap. He sold me a unused motordyne 5/16 (I think that's what it is) iso thermal plenum and brand new megan v2 test pipes for only $80.00. After doing some research online I couldn't pass that up, so I bought them. I didn't exactly know if I was going to install, but after watching youtube and reading about gains I decided I'm going to install.

I have used the search function on this site and google. I have found a lot of information regarding the TPs and the SES/CEL, but I couldn't find a answer to my exact year model.

My question is will my 2005 350z Touring A/T throw up SES/CEL after the Megan V2 install? and would foulers correct this issue if it did?

Thank you in advance and now I got the modification bug I will posting on here more often.

I've installed de-foulers on my helix tp's - with sim upgrades
(exhaust, plenum spacer, etc.) and don't have any CEL issues.

We are both AT too.

Default though

he already owns the test pipes so I don't think he's looking to buy anything.....

I doubt that it's a car specific problem. Typically it would be an installation issue...

Kuro!
I was wondering if you were on these forums!

Keep the Motordyne spacer.
I've only heard great things about the 5/16th spacer.

As for the megan test pipes.
The CEL light is a hit and miss between every car.
Some throw, some don't.
That's why you won't find any real answer.
To each their own, but Megan has it's ups and downs.
Also a thing to know is that TP's on a stock exhaust might give you a horrible "hiss".
Much different from rasp.
The hiss sound is boo boo.

My Berk Test Pipes haven't thrown a code and they've been on the car for 6 months or so.
