Fed up with my exhaust cracking every *%$#ing where.

The reason for having an exhaust ground is because vehicles with individual injectors and spark plug coils can create pulses on the vehicle wiring system through the exhaust. Apparently, the exhaust pipe can be excited to radiate the pulses and these ground straps help reduce that.

Yeah, you're not alone. Many people do just fine without the ground strap properly attached. Although manufacturers put them ground strap there for a reason, I'm sure the effects are very minute, if not negligible. I just posted for the sake of sharing information and to clarify that it has nothing to do with moisture/rust.

When I found it, I had no idea where it belonged. As I no longer had the stock exhaust, it's mounting point was gone. I attached where it reached.
I am getting the rest of the GTSPEC braces tomorrow or Wednesday so I have to take that bolt off and I'll leave it hanging. Next time I go to the exhaust shop I'll ask him to weld it to the exhaust.

TThe Zero/Sports V-Two Point Muffler Ground is a wire grounding system for the muffler and transmission. A tendency for the obstruction of air flow occurs in the exhaust when static electricity builds up during high speeds. By installing the Zero/Sports V-Two Point Muffler grounding wires, static electricity inside the exhaust is removed, smoothing air flow and making the exhaust more efficient. Besides helping to prevent corrosion inside the exhaust pipes, this product also acts as a transmission ground to improve torque response. This product works on all automatic and manual Subarus

Get stiffer motor mounts or just fill yours with urethane to tone things down a bit.
My exhaust is stiff all the way from the turbos. I'm more worried about breaking the studs off than the exhaust breaking.
I'll be adding a grounding strap to my exhaust, at least... it's free so why not?
