Default What brand of Cold Air Intake should I buy?

I want a cold air intake for my 03 Z but I'm not sure what brand is best. Should I just get a nismo? And also, is there anything that doesn't come with the cold air intake that i need?

I kinda tried that but most of the Z's in the videos have some other mod that make affect the sound as well. But I'll keep looking! thanks!

its just your preference. don't fall for the 25 +hp crap. just get any intake you seem to like. i like the nismo intake but its just preference just like a exhaust or coil overs. everyone has their own preference or ideas. most people on here like the jwt intake as well. don't buy a brand new one if you want to save money, just hit up the marketplace.

Buy a JWT. Also, I want an Ings E type, so buy that and send it to me. It will be the general consensus.

Thanks for the advice! Would a y-pipe or straight pipe sound better than a nismo cold air intake? Or should I save up the extra money and get the cold air intake?

Just a few months ago I picked up an intake for my 03 Z and I was asking myself the same thing, but I actually ended up going with a $50 ebay intake because at the end of the day, its just an aluminum pipe with an air filter.. Mind you I'm content with a short ram, If you wana drop $350 on a nismo intake all the power to ya But thats just my opinion. I'd rather put that extra $300 towards something else.. like wheel spacers or test pipes.

Intakes only add a few HP anyway.. people mostly get them for the sound. And to be completely honest my $50 purchase sounds near identical to the brand name intakes I hear on YouTube.

fab your own or buy jwt. gains are minimal, and there aren't really any big differences in intake sound

I have an injen intake. Honestly, if I did it all over, I'd probably use the money I spent on it elsewhere if I had a second go round. However, I will say that I absolutely love how my car sounds, but I have the dual greddy rs exhaust on my car.
But yeah, like others said, the majority of it is based on personal preference, there really isn't a "better" intake.

Has this BEST CAI question been asked before...
YEP!
The comments given have already given you all the info you will need.

Lets review:
=All CAI'S are basically the same
=Cost will vary--50 bucks to 350
=They may sound different
=HP gains advertised are crap
=JWT Popcharger the best for the price/good heat shield(agree-I have one).
=Nismo,well its a Nismo...overpriced.
