Default Popcharger, but question about next mod

Hi guys,

i read everything on this forum about the pop charger, but nothing really 100% answers my question which is why i created a new thread.

I have a popcharger, and the sound is amazing. However, the pop charger intake is basically a filter that uses the stock plastic tube, and im wondering if changing that ''stock plastic tube'' would make a difference in sound... And if so, which one should i get and from where should i get it?

So i basically just wanna know if changing the intake tube would add to the already incredibly pop charger sound.

please let me know. And thanks for your patience lol.

No. Get an exhaust. You won't ever hear the pop again with it anyways

I practically heard almost all the exhaust sounds for the 350z and im not a fan of any of them. The stock one is good enough and impressive, especially with the pop charger. Im just wondering if changing the tube is possible

In olden days, kids used to mount playing cards on their bicycles so that the cards would rub against the spokes as the wheels turned. Children love making noise and this was perfect because it made the bicycle sound like a pack of angry motorcycles.

Drivers of 350Zs are mostly childish men who also love making excessive noise. Marchockey13, if you could make the spokes of all four of your wheels slap against playing cards the sound would be monumental. Basically the best mod ever, and cheap too. A set of 52 playing cards can be had on eBay for as little as one dollar.

It is, that guy is an idiot. The Z tube mod is popular in the G35 community though, the G runs a different more restrictive intake.

I do suggest checking out Z1 motorsports for their aluminum Z tube, looks good , does nothing for performance , but replaces the factory plastic tube.

Yes changing the tubes is possible. http://www.z1motorsports.com/350_g35...oducts_id=5224

thats just one that i could think of quickly. There are plenty others. the aftermarket tubes dont do anything for performance on Z's and i highly doubt they do anything for sound.

I would stick with a plastic tube if you can, stock over any aluminum type. Metal ones prone to more heat soak.

Alot of flaming my man...
As mentioned, the TUBE is available in many materials. All this stuff about
metal gets hotter vs plastic...then we have CF tubes. Its all crap.
Really does'nt make much difference. Most guys change e'm because of the
looks.I have a Berk Z tube--polished aluminum.Looks great.Matches my polished plenum.
Its supposed to have a larger diameter?Never measured. So,the tube is not gonna change your sound. If your engine is a DE,the addition of a spacer will give you a more "open" sound.Got to add a exhaust to get some real noise.

well thanks a lot for your help guys, really appreciate it.

Adding a spacer eh? any suggestions? And how much of a sound difference does it make? and are there any other modifications you guys recommend to add to the pop charger and z tube ? (other than an exhaust change)

thanks!

Check out Motordyne Engineering's 5/16 Plenum Spacer. Not only giving you performance, it makes it sound a little more throatier(?)

OP, these are some really noobish questions you are asking, I would suggest you read this thread entirely before posting another thread:

This post explains the Plenum spacer mods:
