any update on video for proof of sound? All my mustang buddies are telling me to just have a custom exhaust fabbed up and put some nice mufflers on it, but I dont want to lose the exotic pur of the z. I dont want my import to sound like a domestic..

Okay here is an update - The image was how i originally how it set up. (NO RESONATORS). It souded good at first at low rpm but when i got on it omg is was extremely raspy and just didnt sound like the way a z should. So i went back and had two aftermarket resonators installed after the x pipe. (my phone died so i couldnt get a clip of the new set up).

here is the old set up (no resonators)

Here is the current set up with resonators

i am MUCH happier with the new set up!

the guy in that pic is a boss man. good sound from the exhaust. Sounds like mine minus that popcharger growl. I was so happy with it at first but now I want resonated test pipes so that it can be louder

BTW my xpipe looks more like a muffler and its bigger so idk..

lol yeah that guy cracked me up. I couldnt deal with the loud sound..i prefer to be slightly louder than stock. Although when i install headers that will change lol

Can I ask why headers? Known for power loss on the Z and make a lot of rasp, not positive thats just what Ive read. Plus install is a nightmare.

To be completely honest I was planning on doing research before the buy. The only reason i wanted headers is for performance (make it a tad quicker/more responsive). I was actually unaware of the power loss. Ill look more into that though for sure, thanks for the info.

LOL. Goddamn I cannot stand scrubs who think throwing parts on without a tune is standard practice. Mods support each other, and real results are only obtained after a tune.

Hell even half this forum thinks the ssv plenum is a flawed design, when it's because kids think their stock, auto 350z needs that kind of flow.

Proper longtube headers read: not OBX greatly improve flow characteristics, but need supporting mods to produce real results.

Congrats on the exhaust man. I had similar rasp with my setup, but waited for the piping and mufflers to break in and ended up close to your second vid. Yours will tame out as you put the miles on. It will start sounding better and better.
