Headers came in today... Luckily someone was home to sign for them.

Initial impressions, packaging looks pretty good. Foam wrap, bubble wrap and a ton of peanuts. Unpacking the headers I can see some minor dings and dents. I'm a little surprised with this amount of packaging there was damage, but I guess it could have happened during transport from PPE to Jetcoat. I think the tubing seems thick enough for it not to be a factor on the inside, but still a little upsetting. I'm sure they'll get more damage during installation.

I got the correct headers as I ordered. Nonstepped with reducer at the merge. Coating looks pretty good and even. Welds look good too. I'll post some pictures tomorrow.

One big thing is that one of the headers is missing the O2 bung cap. The other side came with it. Looked and swifted through on the foam peanuts and couldn't find it. No PPE stickers either...

RDZ who do I need to talk to about the missing bung cap? Thanks.

Hey man, PM me your name address just so I can make this as quick as possible. I'll call PPE and have them ship you one out asap. Also please take pictures of the damage and email them to me at joe@rdz300.com

UPS made an attempt yesterday when I was out. I'm at home today, though!

Voboy, when you say "with reducer" what are you referring to? I thought the non-stepped all had them? E.g. the collector exits at 2.25" and transitions to 2.5":

I'm hoping that's what I'm getting b/c that reduction is important to keep velocity up on the low end.

They should all come with reducers for non-stepped versions. But I just stated it on the off chance something got lost in translation...

One of the prototype headers had no reducer.

Ok, cool, that's what I was talking about, as well. Just hoping we didn't have to specify it, as I was under the impression that they all (or at least by default) had a reducer.

I don't have any bung caps with mine. Am I supposed to, or was that just because you had an extra bung welded in?

I actually just realized the primary's are relocated to where the secondary's are. I thought they were extra for aftermarket sensors and that the primary was still near the stock location. I thought it was the secondaries that needed extending... that's a pretty long extension!

So I shouldn't need or have received any bung cap to begin with! Sorry for the confusion.

Another question for you guys that have received them though... Are the welds around the primary flange going to the engine complete? Mine are partially welded and one of the tubes was not ported clean....

Just got mine today. Here are some pics of the headers. I have the same question about the welds around the primaries and the flange as well. They are not completely welded. Is that how it suppose to be?

Here are a few of my main concerns...
big part of unfinished welding...the other side of it was just as big.

nasty inner piping... all others were clean and smooth

other flanges look like this.. probably strong enough but incomplete IMO

PPE's website photo for 350z headers look complete...and so were denchan350gt's headers

that doesn't make sense? why wouldn't they take the little effort left to just complete the weld?
