Default Thinking of switching to long tube headers. Worth it?

Well, as the title states, I've been milling over the idea of grabbing some long tubes.

I currently have Crawford hi-flows. Would it be better to keep those and grab some standard short tube headers?

All the reading I've done says yes, but I just wanted to double check before I put it on my list.

What are you double checking? You only read once? The answer is pretty obvious.

What results are you expecting with the long tubes vs the short?
Is the expense&labor of doing headers at all worth it?
IMO,NO.

This response is exactly why I posed the question in the first place.

I've read a lot of things that say yes, the gains from long tube headers are worth the cost of parts and labor to replace any current short header/TP HFC combination.

But, like JCITY, I was always under the impression that doing headers AT ALL wasn't worth the cost of parts and labor.

Which is why I am now confused.

It really depends on you and what your goals are. To me it boils down to cost and benefit. $900 set for some nice long tubes vs What I spent $900 on:

$100 for some HR oem tubular headers
$500 nitrous kit
$100 spacer motordyne
$100 high flow cats for HR engine
$100 colder spark plugs and nitrous refill

True.

I guess I'll put them on the list, but somewhere near the bottom.

I need to get off my *** and install my flywheel and 4.03 gears.

Regret what? the flywheel?

The excess chatter won't bother me. IMO it's the Erie silence of the OE DM flywheels that sounds odd...

Ive heard some cars with lth and it sounds like a$$ to to be honest lol. Keep your crawford hfcs! or if you do want to change things up look into art pipes
