Default Where to weld in Magnaflow X-pipe?

I've searched and couldn't find an exact answer as to where the Magnaflow x-pipe should be welded on. I've read that the original resonators are junk and should just be removed when installing the x-pipe, but that would leave the exhaust a bit short wouldn't it?

If someone could maybe show me where the x-pipe should be welded on with a quick sketch on a google image of the exhaust using paint or something, I would greatly appreciate it.

Also, which x-pipe is preferred or most often used? The perforated or the nonperforated? I'm going for a deep, but not incredibly loud exhaust note. Louder than stock for sure though.

Thanks anyways Trevor. I got an idea of where to weld it. Pretty much as far up as possible before the bends I assume? I'm also assuming that since cutting the resonators off the exhaust shop will weld on extensions to make it long enough to fit the car as well.

The other day I worked on a Z that came into my work and it had an HKS rep with test pipes. It's extremely loud...and badass sounding.

I need pics of this "mod." I'm also wondering where the shop will cut and replace with the new piping.

Thinking of getting the so-called x-pipe to try and get the exhaust note a little quieter.

Sorry, I haven't checked the forums in awhile, but I did find out where to weld the x-pipe. I also found a picture from another member for clarification.

I will be putting my exhaust on as soon as it gets here next week. From what I've researched, the x-pipe goes where the exhaust's resonators and h-pipe is. So that whole section gets replaced with the x-pipe. Hope this helps!

I actually just had this done today. I had the shop put the x-pipe where the resonators are without needing any extra pipe. So my x was right behind the H-pipe section. They then cut off the tiny h-pipe and welded the tiny hole closed (it's honestly a pathetic 1/4" sized hole. This seemed to be the easiest method to me.
