Just passed 1st inspection with rt cats
sniffer and visual.
states emission laws are different and there has been alot of concern in many other posts i have read about actually passing an inspection.
I believe in va it is illegal to swap out oem emission parts in a car that is less than 5 years old.
noone noticed that my cats were not oem.
i was never worried about the sniffer, just the visual.

Edit: wait a second, you shouldn't have to have emissions done on your car since VA only requires emissions to be done every other year. Did you buy the car used?

no, I bought it new.
to be honest, i did not watch the inspection.
they may have looked at the tires and signals and slapped a sticker on it.
so my post ends up being less useful than i thought.
judging by posts in other threads it seemed that people were concerned about cat mods passing visual inspections.
I passed - maybe that is useful info to some people who have or were thinking about getting cats.
I am not a vendor, nor do i have anything to gain by saying i passed with my cats.

Hmmm... my father's BMW has 9K on the odometer, and it just had to have the emissions done last week. (Yes, it's amazing how few miles he has on it)
Jonathon, why did you have the emissions checked? It's only mandated for every other year.

i have 18k on the car in one year - what can i say, its fun to drive
i looked at the pink inspection sheet that they give you and i had checks by emmisions equipment and exhaust, as well as every other category.
