Default Stillen Y pipe

Hey guys. Just need your opinion on which stillen y pipe to get. I just found of that there is 2 different kinds. In the future am going with agency power/ megan single exhaust. One comes with their stillen exhaust system and one they sell as a standalone y pipe. Just wondering why they changed the design and if the new one is better.

New standalone y pipe:

This is the one from their exhaust system:

The Stillen 350Z exhaust is a true dual:

The other link you posted is a y-pipe from a 370Z Stillen exhaust:

Whether or not it will work on a HR 350Z, I have no idea.

No their both 350 y pipes. Just want to know which is better and if they redesigned it for a reason.

The Stillen y-pipe is the same part # for the 350Z and the 370Z, which means it's the same exact y-pipe (504252). It hasn't changed design. The other y-pipe that's for sale is made for a 370Z Stillen exhaust. I'm not saying it won't fit a 350Z but they don't sell that y-pipe by itself, it's only sold with the 370Z Stillen cat-back exhaust.

Yea they don't sell it by it self but a member has one on here for sale that I posted in the link. That y pipe came off his 350z stillen exhaust. The second link.

I understand what you're getting at. But in order to know the difference between the y-pipe Stillen sells by itself and the one he has for sale, someone would have to buy an entire 370Z Stillen exhaust just to obtain that y-pipe. Are you even sure that y-pipe adapts to a non-Stillen mid-pipe?

Yea the had it installed with an agency power exhaust and a few other systems. I know it fits. I just was wondering why the redesign of the new y pipe. Why wouldn't they just sell the one that comes as a part of their full exhaust instead of making a completely new y pipe as a standalone product.

Both look equally terrible in my opinion. No flex joints. Welds don't look that great either. I'm sure it will serve its purpose, but I'd spend your money on a quality part instead.

The one on the exhaust may be more universal. It looks like it may fit the AWD G's transfer case. Sort of like running HR Y-pipes on the AWD G35. I don't think there would be any difference in performance.

Ahh I see. Yea I guess they both would provide similar gains. Was just wondering why the redesign.

Well a member on here has been using it for the y pipe for some time now with now problems. He made pretty decent gains on the dyno too. Which one would you recommend?

You're absolutely right, and I have no doubt it will serve its purpose and even result in some gains on the dyno as well. Personally, I went with the Motordyne XYZ mainly for the option of having a modular section to run a straight pipe/resonator/high flow cat. It also has flex pipe sections that are nice to have since I'm lowered and do occasionaly scrape the exhaust. I'd just be worried about getting cracks in the rest of my exhaust if I didn't have any flex in the system.

Before I ran the XYZ, I ran the AAM Competition Y-pipe and it was a well made piece.

Truthfully, it's completely up to you. I like having options so that's why I run the XYZ. Currently I run the resonator section, and it's matched up to Momentum headers, Z1 test pipes, and the tomei expreme ti. Kind of a crazy mix of pieces, but the sound is exactly what I wanted and it makes the power.
