I can second that statement. It settles down after about 400 miles. Its nothing drastic, it still maintains it's volume but, it's a little more refined after the break in.

The Invidia has been the opposite. The volume increase slightly and the tone became a little deeper. The second time has been successful for me. It sounds amazing.

Although, You can't beat the weight savings with the ISIS.

That's nice to hear. The exhaust showed up at my door a hour ago, and everything looks pretty damn good. The muffler looks huge hahaha. It could have been packaged a little better but it's okay. The welds look pretty decent and so does the insides of the pipping. So far so good. I'll try and get it installed tomorrow morning along with the bumper tuck. Ill post the pics once done.

90nissanS13 quick question... What made u dislike the sound of The exhaust? What made it so loud on your car the Y pipe? I drive a HR so hopefully it's not loud on mine.

Default ISIS feed back

Well from an opinionated perspective I'll share my experience with the ISIS/Megan combination. What made me dislike the exhaust were many factors. I gave some data earlier in this discussion in regards to manufacturing, welding, quality, etc. About 50% of my dislike comes from many of these factors. Because of how I make a living and the standard of parts I've made and make, it's really hard for me to overlook these things.

For the sound, and I mean this in the most respectful way possible for those who enjoy this exhaust but, for me...It's very ricer. Normal driving with minimal load, light throttle is just over baring with humming and gurgling. There is absolutely no way to drive without hearing a significant amount of noise. The volume is about a 7-8(out of 10).

The drone either seemed to lessen around 400 miles, or I became used to it. I'm not completely sure. It was still a bit more than I am comfortable with. I don't like having to talk over my exhaust while cruising at a steady highway speed.

Perhaps the y-pipe reduced the restriction to add to my experience but, that is the point when we go with an aftermarket exhaust. I don't think it would make it much louder but, I could be wrong.

Hopefully this helps, it's only based on my preference and you will have more to add to the discussion when you install yours.

Ok guys I finally installed my exhaust today and everything went pretty well. I didn't have a issue with the resonator hitting the drive shaft or the tip hitting the bumper. I actually have about a 3/8" gap between pipe and drive shaft. The only spot that was a issue was the mid pipe hitting the W Brace. I'll have to wrap some header wrap around it cause it's just resting on it. I thought about adding some spacers but I didn't hear any vibrations during my trip to Home Depot so I just left it for now.

It is a little louder than I expected but not too bad. I wouldn't call the note ricey though. Mine is deep and smooth with no gurgles... Maybe because I'm still running the stock HR Y Pipe. Down In the lower RPMs it's super deep and sorta loud and then up high it mellows out and sounds very nice. IMHO the only thing that can make a VQ engine sound ricey is straight pipes, and even then it still doesn't sound "ricey". Our engines produce a very nice note, Nissan knew what they were doing. Also I didn't experience much drone at all. Cruising in 6th gave a nice quiet note. Maybe I'm just used to V8s. I drove a cammed 6.0 GTO from Virgina to California... Crazy loud!

90NissanS13 your review hit the nail on the coffin though, but for $325 shipped it's a pretty good deal. It's defenetly better than the HKS replica exhaust, sounds better too!! I almost pulled the trigger on a Agency Power exhaust but found them to be way to loud for me.

NFAC, you're comparing this to an HKS replica exhaust?

Just comparing the Price... They're not to far off. I never owned the rep HKS but I see them all of the time out here in the Bay.

Ahh, gotcha. I thought you were running the HKS replica before the ISIS. You mention the ISIS sounds better.

@NFAC, did you use VHT spray paint to smoke your rear lights? I wanted to do that with my turn/reverse lights.

UPDATE!!!!!

Ripped a whole through my resonator... It got caught up on a metal spike/speed bump entering a apartment complex. Taking it into work to fix it. I may dent it in some to make more clearance and add a slightly thicker plate.

Hahaha who are u telling... This sucks. Do they even make those to cover up that mid section? I probably would have to mock up my own.

The packaging was decent and I would have liked to see foam on all sides of the exhaust instead of just on the bottom. The exhaust took around 45 minutes to install including taking pictures and the rear bumper tuck and I did this on the ground with just a jack and jack stands.
Damn you are fast. I got an exhaust from z1 and it took me about 45 minutes to find that **** inside the box pull it out and then clean up the mess. Actual install time is going on a few weeks now... Mostly because when I tried to remove my bolts I was like

Heat the piping up and Shoot the bolts with some PB Blaster. They should come right off. Single exhaust are super easy to install. The hardest part for me was getting the Stock off of the hangers.

Thanks the bolts no longer have anything that resembles a nut left on them. The cat bolts are the same way, I managed to fabricate the muffler section up to my stock mid pipe but the rest will need to wait till I swap out the cats. I would post a pic but it looks like crap under their. My factory muffler flange actually rusted and broke off. Those hangers were a ***** too I think I used some big *** channel locks and a big pry bar and a jack to hold that monster up. What did you wrap your roof with? I was thinking of doing mine with 3m carbon fiber. But im also kinda cheap and found some other wrap for like $20 with good reviews. I have. A few little rusty spots on my roof as well... Massachusetts sucks on cars. Should probably do my pillars also might look like crap though.. Maybe I should just wrap my hood and hatch black instead. So many options.

I wish i had the two so I could give you a number. I could say with little doubt, the ISR is half the weight of the OEM. The OEM is much heavier than you might think.

The total weight of the ISR is probably around 25 lbs. The rear muffler on the OEM is 25lbs or more.
