The total weight of the ISR is probably around 25 lbs. The rear muffler on the OEM is 25lbs or more.
I think the rear muffler itself is 35lbs... was just wondering what the ISIS weighs... ive fully gutted my z, going to the races next year so looking for places to lose some more weight... thanks for the reply.

Very cool. The exhaust is a good place to lose that weight and gain an obvious performance advantage. I don't know what you've done already. Since you are considering weight saving, the rear hatch is a place to lose a fair amount of weight and lower your roll-center/COG in the process.

Already in the process of making custom fiberglass hatch with lexan window. Fully gutted interior, ac/ delete the works... only places i can still save weight is, lightweight flywheel/clutch combo and gutting the hood... all of which are going to happen very soon. Check my my thread in the road racing section if you're interested in pictures.

Stock exhaust is like filled with concrete... Even true dual exhaust is lighter than the oem... On a side note it's hard to beat the sound of the oem exhaust.

Yea I had the stock exhaust off a few months back when i was doing subframe bushings and bench pressed that biotch back into place... super heavy I have test pipes so the sound has already been changed... still sounds decent... only reason im going ISIS and is because it has a resonator... if i would get megan (which is straight pipe) it would be waaaaay too loud... main goal here is weight loss... exhaust is not the limiting factor in the z so the 3" piping is more than fine.

PM me your link, I would love to see what you are doing! A lightweight flywheel is a great upgrade, especially for a road race application. I have a streetlite in my DD and never regretted that. Don't expect a significant reduction in curb weight, the idea with a lightweight FW is reduced rotating mass.

As a side note, i wouldnt lexan the windshield. You'll end up with visibilty issues as it scratches very easy and its not worth a huge weight saving. Keep the tempered glass and you can still drive on the street.

LOL

I totally would have kept my ISR(isis) exhaust if I was strictly using my Z as a track car. It's cheap, light and has a decent, modest sound for a track car. It wasn't my favorite for a DD.

In my exhaust shuffling I decided to try this one out for schnitzengiggles since I found one for a ludicrous deal on ebay.

Imo there is adequate driveshaft clearance, the pic makes it look less than what it really is, id say 3/4" at least. The way it sits there is very little vertical play in the system. I am not worried about it.

There is no interference with the rear bumper, its not melting or toasting the paint or anything like that.

It does rest on the crossmember.

The way the midpipe resonator sits it will certainly be the first component to be ripped to shreds if you are low and drive carelessly (already happened to someone in an earlier post).

I am running a Hotchkiss v1 rear sway (came with the 3-hole front bar), and as you can see there is very little clearance there. It opens up slightly when loaded, but not really sure what will happen when dynamic loads come to play.

For those that say this exhaust is loud, wow I have the completely opposite opinion. The center resonator is quite large and I believe this can be considered one of the quietest singles on the market, probably even quieter than the HKS. IMO the sound is very similar to the Nismo S-tune on throttle.

In the end you get what you pay for, but Id say for those looking for a cheap single go for it.

Local nismo owner had issues with this and ditched it. It sat on his mid winged brace.

Similar imo especially considering its a single. Fyi I ran the S-tune for a number of years in various configurations.

After months of use, I'm still liking the exhaust. As stated in earlier post, the exhaust note does get a little better over time but nothing too drastic. I'm still going to get the Tomei Titanium single in the future.... That exhaust just looks so badasssss LOL. But in the meantime, with all of these crazy speed bumps I have to go over I'm extremely happy with the ISIS.
Crazy cheap and decent quality... I believe it sounds better than all of the other exhaust in the same price range.

Just got it installed, and I can't put the M chassis brace on. Should I try make it fit with bending ore some exhaust wrap, or can I run the car without the brace? It's a daily driver.

Are you able to gain proper clearance by twisting the exhaust and setting the flange bolts. My recommendation would be to try and retain every oem part as possible.

Not really, it's cinched up pretty tight. Any higher it will hit the sway bar, has good driveshaft clearance though. I was thinking of either reinstall with exhaust wrap, or add washers to the front 4 bolts of the brace. I'm not lowered and don't plan to be in the near future.

Oh, isis exhaust... ~sigh~

I would try the washer-shims first, thats not a bad fix. Its cheap and the easiest to reverse if you change the exhaust again. You may potentially require the use of longer bolts, you will surely want full thread engagement.

It's not that bad of fitment really, just bigger pipes cause problems in general. That's why the midpipe on the Agency Power single is flattened, probably for the brace fitment. I will try get it reinstalled soon.

Here's a quick sound clip from a local warehouse parking garage. Not the ideal place for clear sound, but it was kinda windy outside.
