3", 3.5", & 4" intakes

I actually modified the race intake into a short ram and added some tubing to the front bumper to get cool air up to the filter element. The way my oil cooler was set up with the long ram, it wasn't able to get cool air when driving. One night with about 70 degree ambient temps, I was seeing around 126 degree intake temps on the highway.
After I modified into a short ram and added the tubing, it dropped to about +4 degree over ambient intake temps.
So, long story short, I went with the short ram admin intake. I plan to remove the brace from the Z1 intake and have it welded to the admin tube since it doesn't have one, and I also plan to build a box around the filter element to help with heat issues.
I'll be sure to let you know back on here once I have a date set up for the dyno.

Quick update:
Intake should be shipping by the end of the week.
I've been seeing lots of chat about what adding a velocity stack does to help with power, so I picked up a 3.5" velocity stack/filter combo from Blox racing to do a before and after test of that as well.
My hope is to get down to Z1 sometime next week if I can.

Update:
Intake arrived from Admin Tuning. Took about 5 weeks, but it's a very beautiful, well made piece.
So I decided to hack it up
I needed to take off a bit of the end so I could run a universal 3.5" velocity stack.
I am driving down to Z1 Motorsports tomorrow to hang out for a while. Tuning will be done on Thursday.
If anyone is going to be in the area the next couple of days, be sure to drop by.
I'll report back here with dyno results.
My last numbers were about 293whp/275wtq.
Car is an 03 DE with Tomei 272 cams and a bunch of other supporting mods.
Looking forward to seeing what this intake/velocity stack will do.

Got on the dyno today for some tuning.
Final numbers were 304whp/280wtq.
Total change was about 12hp/12tq.
The colder temps definitely played a factor, but there's also no doubt in my mind that the intake performed well.
The guys at Z1 are putting together a post for social media and a video, so once I have those I will post here.

That's correct, and I misspoke earlier. I actually picked up 27rwtq from my previous run earlier in the year. At the time, it still had the full long ram, but yes I ended up converting it to a short ram in order to drop my intake temps down. That was mainly just due to where the oil cooler was located, as it wasn't allowing cool air to reach the filter element. Instead of moving the cooler, I just ran some ducting from Pegasus racing to dump ambient air on the filter while driving. Worked great.

Good observations, you are still making more power at your old peak RPM in spite of peaking earlier. Being able to make more power earlier may have been something the larger intake allowed the tuner to do (taking advantage of more cam overlap possibly), but that is just speculation.
