Default Removing driveshaft brace

I'm installing an Injen exhaust and the instruction refer to removing a brace that's at the tranny output, right below the driveshaft. I'm thinking this brace does nothing other than a safety measure in case the driveshaft drops or to support it while working on it, but what to see what you guys think and if anyone has done something different.

Ok cool, I took it off anyways, exhaust wouldn't fit with it. .
I'm in Worceter area, usually go to the airfield for autocross.

Might have to put my front sway and strut bar back on and head out there. I've always wanted to do that. I want to hit up New England dragway a few times with summer. What's the autocross place called>?
