Default NISMO exhaust installation questions

My NISMO cat-back exhaust just arrived today at my dealership and they quoted me at $250/4 hours labor for installation. Is this about right?
I have two mechanic friends who have plenty of tools and experience for a DIY install; they want to do it this weekend in their garage. What do you recommend? Dealer, local tuning shop, DIY install? I'd prefer the most cost effective route, but if the install is going to be really difficult without a lift, I'd take it to shop or let the dealer handle it.

The install will not be very difficult at all. With a lift, it took us about 20 minutes to replace the exhaust system. It is just a matter of bolting and unbolting and slipping the stock one out of the rubber hangers. Def save the money and DIY. It may take an hour on your backs.

I'm with FLY BY Z, It's just way too easy. Make sure you disconnect the ground strap at the muffler BEFORE you remove it. You'll see it now that your aware it's there.

My dealer charged me $75 for 1 hour labor. It only took them about 30 minutes to actually do it. Keep it mind that this was the first one they've done so I'm sure it took the mechanic a few extra minutes. Since they sold me the exhaust at cost ($770) I couldn't complain about the time they charged me for.

BTW, I've seen the dealer's NISMO parts book and it lists the install time as 0.5 hrs.

That price is high. My dealer installed my nismo exhaust for $80 for less than an hour of labor.

$1100 from Maroone Nissan I was going to order from Performance Nissan, but I was quoted at $150 for shipping from CA to FL.

I remember the guy at the dealer told me something about needing the shop foreman to administer this installation and that's why it would take 4+ hours
Well, Miami Muffler told me $50 for install w/ friends discount. Great price, but I'll install it myself over the weekend I think.

Thanks for the input everyone

One of the Forum members pointed out that we were being jacked by our shipping software and freight company. We have corrected that and the shipping is MUCH better now!! Sorry about that...

Yup, I bought it from the dealer. Don't talk to the salesman though, they want to sell it for list. After I ordered the car, I called the parts manager and asked him what kind of deal would he be willing to cut me. I pointed out that there were a number of other dealers I could order one from in the $900 range. He was willing to match them and told me to let him know a couple of days before the car arrived and he would order the exhaust and have it there when the car arrived.

When the car arrived, I called him again and he gave me a price of $845 installed. Broken down it was $770 + 75 for the install. I already knew that the dealer price was $770 from info someone else had given me.

I tried to install my Nismo Exhaust yesterday and had difficulty removing the muffler from the rear rubber hangers. Its there a secret to removing it. I had to put the old one back. I am trying again today.
