Hey there. I’m new to this MOD stuff. I just got my roadster on Wednesday and I was wondering a few things. What does a CAI do for me/my car? Horsepower increase? Louder? It seems like a good 1st MOD if you only have a few hundred dollars to spend. Let me know what you guys would do with 300 bucks. Thanks.

 

The CAI will not really give you much for gains. It will look nice and change the exhaust note. I would save another $100 and get a plenum.

 

forget about the CAI, save money for the good stuff like F/I or nitrous..........go buy a slide in K&N air filter, will give you the same results as the 300.00 pretty cai.

I have no idea what you guys just said. What is a plenum? What would that do for me/my car? sorry to test your patience, but could you treat me like I was 6 and exlpain a little about each. By the way, NOS is out of the question.

There are 2 plenums I know about. Kinetix and then Crawford. There are good and bad for both. I would recommend doing a search and you can find ample amounts of info. on both. Crawford has a video explaining what the plenum doeson their website.

Searches on this site should help you make up your mind.
And yes save he extra $100 for theplenum instead of the CAI. I have the INJEN CAI and it does look good, it does change the sond a bit, but as far as HP gains. Very minor, if any. If you want a CAI get the JWT POPCHARGER, Many reviews on this site have approved of it. Hope this helps, and welcome to the community

the NISMO CAI on the roadster is usually mounted in the same spot the JWT Pop Charger is...
