I ordered the Gruppe-M for my car but after waiting for 4 months I finally canceled the order (did not order from any of the vendors here). The Gruppe-M looks sweet, expect the tubing from the scoop to the box- looks like a dryer hose. The K&N Typhoon is an almost identical design at 1/3 the price.

Looks overpriced to me. Apart from being Carbon, what else does it offer??? I think the guys have dyno proved that CAI's dont make a great deal of power on this car.
If it were me, I'd get the pop charger, some gains, and great sound.

Search!

It is high quality. Much better than the K&N in terms of quality and build. Search, there is plenty of info on this site.

No doubt the Gruppe-M is higher quality- but design-wise they are almost identical.

Power wise, what does it offer?? maybe a couple of BHP. From the reviews I've read it only sounds slightly louder than stock, and thats near the redline.
I love carbon stuff, but the duct hosing into the unit really lets down what is effectively a K&N cone in a fancy box.
I'd go for the K&N if you really want 'CAI', or popcharger.
Each to their own.

Design wise its COMPLETELY Different, first take a look at both of the intakes. I know I have one.

I have one as well and could not be happier

First off, Gruppe M is owned by K&N IIRC, however they are 2 totally different units. I know on ym car, gains were in the 6-7 hp range ( I have to look for the dyno's as its the first thing I did to me car), and I have had no ill effects despite using it throughout the winter in snow and rain.

By design I mean that they both have scoops that "ram" air to a filter underneath the hood. I realize the actual air filters are completely different. I probably should have used the term "theory" instead of design.
