does the pop charger have a "sucking" sound?
just intalled mine. it looks great!!! i gotta say though, installing those screws were a PITA!!!!! otherwise things went smoothly.
oh, the packing material was paper from a paper shredder and it was all inside the inside of the air filter. that was a pain getting all the scraps out. i didnt want to miss any paper and have it get sucked up into the engine.
will take it for a test drive tonight. cannot wait!

my goodness, for $120, this thing sounds sweet!! as others have stated in this thread, it does not sound like the civic's intake at all! that thing was irritating as hell, but i love this sound. i find myself revving through the rpm range just so that i can hear the engine now.
frank actually, next time i see you, you can drive it again. no big deal. of course it wont sound as good as yours or dave's, but considering my tight budget, i am very happy with the results.

Installed mine yesterday. The only noticeable difference is a little whistle which really isn't all that cool. I am hoping it makes it run just a little leaner as I think it was way too rich (from the exhaust crud I find every time I go anywhere).
in order for me to hear the whistle, i have to be standing out of the car and pressing on the accelerator with my foot.
otherwise, i dont hear any whistle... even with my top down. all i hear is that beautiful roar...

I hate to try and hijack the thread, but how do people feel about the JWT vs the K&N Typhoon? (I'd search but it still seems to be broken....) I'm not a big fan of intakes that only draw air from the engine bay itself (since it gets pretty hot in there), but I know you need to be careful if you are drawing air from below because you don't want water in the engine.

The JWT heat shield works well and it gets cold air from the the stock intake air deflector. So it is really getting a cold air ram effect not warm air from the engine bay as it may appear.
I was surprised the heat shield kept the intake as cool as it does.
