Default CEL light with cat pipes

anyone got the SES (service engine soon) light on?
the light came on yesterday...i have installed the Mines cat pipes a few weeks ago and has driven for about 300-400 miles...but i thought our Z cars won't throw the CEL light with cat pipes??
any clue?
i did check my gas cap and tighten it again but the light is still there...so it shouldn't be the gas cap problem...PLEASE HELP ME~

I have had mine come on several times on my G35. If I drive it hard occasionally, it never comes on. The only times it has come on, either my wife was driving (easy driver), or I was just putting along for quite a while (doesn't happen to often). I just do the "quick ECU reset" (you know, the 3sec, 5pump, 7sec, 10sec, 10sec trick that only works half of the time!), and it's gone for another couple of months.

You can read about it here:

Try it a few times before you give up. It really does work... it's just a little finicky.

Why doesnt someone make a dummy O2 bung to fool the ECU and make a small fortune?

It seems pretty rare that any of us Z/G owners even need them when running test pipes. Combine that with the fact that over half of us have subsequently removed the pipes because of the raspy noise, the demand seems pretty low. People already make CEL eliminator kits that you can wire into your existing O2 sensors. A pair of those could be had for ~$30, but you could make them yourself for well under $5. Schematics should be readily available... all you need is two resistors and two capacitors readily available at Radio Shack (sorry, but I can't recall all of the specifics off of the top of my head).

i already made a post on how to do them yourself. cost is about $13. i also make them for people who do not want or know how to build circuits.

do a search on "simulator" and my name.
