High Flow Cats: Rating HP??
Can someone please rate the gains of the various high flow cats out there....oh, and where to get them????
I'm looking at the magnaflow cats only because they seem to pass all the emissions tests...otherwise, I imagine a test pipe with some sort of silencer would be best. I saw R/T cats are for offroad use only...so what's the point?? Any input would be great! Thanks!!!

I just finished installing R/T cats. You might want to talk to Jeff or Jason at Performance Nissan about "offroad use only". Probably more of a CYA. I have with a Borla Exhaust System and they are GREAT.

r/t cats passed the sniffer.... but probably will not pass any visual inspection. here in california, the mechanic/smog technician is suppose to give a visual inspection, but they never do.

Kinetix offers a down pipe with resonator...but the HP is the same. The only reason to get the high flow cats versus the straight pipe would be to avoid having to switch it out when it comes time for emissions testing. (And having to keep the old cats in the garage taking up space). I'm concerned about passing the sniff test more than anything.
If the R/T's pass the test, that's great!
Do they offer the most HP, or are the all comparable?

I have the RT's and love'em.
Just back from driving my Z and it sounds sweet.
I always drive with the windows down
Got'em at Performance Nissan of course.

I just ordered Kinetix test pipes; it's the best option for me as it gives the best flow (I'm also looking into turbo in the not too distant future) and I don't have to worry about emissions.

The R/T's are 50 state CARB approved (except in Calif????) Go figure. Here's the only chart I have.... but I think there is a better one floating around out there. This is the flow bench chart done by T/S.
