Went to go take my 'Z' for a ride got to the end of my street heard some rattleing under my car. Did a 'U' turn back to the house and jacked the car up and this is what I found the middle pipe on my nismo exhaust broke right off at the weld.Has this happened to anyone else? Called jeff at performace nissan from where I bought it and he took care of it sent me a new pipe. That place is great.

 

7000 miles on mine no breakages yet... how many miles did you have on yours?

Put mine on in Sept when the car was new... have 2900 miles on car now with no problem....... damn, I really need to stop working on this thing and drive it more...

 

You definately do, I'm trying my absolute hardest to keep it to 1,000 miles a month limit. Got it July, it has 8,500, right on schedule but its going to be really hard this summer, oh well why buy it to garage it!

 

Put mine on 2 weeks ago--no problems after about a thousand miles--related note--IMO the stock exhaust sounds better at low RPM..the NISMO better than stock when crankin'.

 

ive had mine on since early August...

no problems... have over 36000 miles on my car now... 32000 of them with the exhaust

 

I installed the exhaust when it had 4000 miles in august of 03 now it has 25,000 (i drive alot) and it broke right at that weld. I'm wondering if I just got a bad system. When I install the pipe I'll have to check the muffler and the "Y" pipe real close. Hopw everything is good. I don't want to call jeff with more bad news.

Hmmm, I've been hearing some weird rattles when I accelerate. I better check out the exhaust system when I get back from my business trip.

 

Yes check it out. Thats the same noise I heard, Then the pipe broke eventually.

 

On the beginning of the Ypipe i have some bracket welded on. I think this is on the later models of the nismo exhaust. I think its a weak point (the section were your exhaust went bad) of the exhaust cause it scraps the ground sometimes.

yeah the later models, like mine's, has a bracket welded on top of the beginning of the y-pipe.

I've had my nismo exhuast for over 12,000 miles and it's been a champ.
