I just put my ver. 1 on the 350z and this baby wont idle at all, keeps tryin to stall, and after a few minutes the oil light comes on BUT the oil pressure is fine. This sure sounds like a vacuum leak. Tighten the bolts from the inside to the outside.

To locate the vacuum leak, use a spray bottle of water around the gaskets and fitting, helps amplify the sound of the leak.

Good luck

Did you transfer that little rubber vaccuum plug on the stock plenum over to the new one?
Where you careful with the throttle body...and did you make sure to NOT disconnect it?

Also, the 2 10mm bolts that were supposed to plug the 2 unused bolt holes in the lower part of the plenum, where they important, cuz I just realized I forgot that part

Well I didnt get any short 10mm bolts to fill the holes, will the stock 10mm ones fit, even though they are long?

i feel your pain man...but...wow..this thread is kinda funny. Also, make sure to put the rubber cap on the nipple on the fron left side of the plenum...that is another common air escape point that people overlook. To the rubber cap off your stock plenum

That's your most likely culprit. I had the same thing happened to me with V5 . Did not take my time with the install and forgot the 2 10mm bolts. Scared the crap out of me!

Ok, got it workin fine, well I think. She idles now fine like before BUT my Oil Pressure is only reading between 5 and 10 PSI at idle, and about 30-35 psi while driving, or accelerating. I am pretty sure it used to be alot higher during both conditions. I will try resetting the ecu one more time to see if that fixes it, OH and when I made a hard stop my oil pressure dropped to 0 and the oil light came on for a moment and then went out, but scary nonethless when I have oil in the car.

Lemme know what you guys think.

Hey dave let me know how you like the new crawford plenum i ordered mine a few days ago. as far as oil pressure goes i dont know what would cause that now? would a vacuum leak in the plenum cause oil pressure problems??

I highly doubt that this issue is tied to your plenum install or ECU reset. Unless, that is, you dropped a bolt down the intake manifold. The oil pressure should be your TOP concern. Change your oil now. New filter and a new 5 quarts of oil. Then check your pressure after the car has warmed up. If the pressure is fine, then drive for exactly 1000 miles. Stop and change your oil again. Measure the old oil. If you have less than 4.5 quarts, then you likely have a oil consumption problem. Keep repeating the above until you have a good idea of the consumption per 1000 miles. If it seems like a lot, then take off all your engine mods and get your car to the dealer pronto. I don't want to scare you, but they will ask you to repeat the same. If they confirm it, you will be getting a new engine (most likely).

The oil problem is something serious that needs to be addressed. I think you just happened to stumble across it when you were doing this work. The source of the issue could be something else, but it is worth the $25 for an oil change to be safe.

The problem could end up being something else and something small, but you need to treat it seriously until you know for certain. Never assume bad oil pressure is nothing to worry about.
