Default AEM Air/Fuel Gauge

Where is the best place to mount O2 sensor? I have stock exhaust. I looked under the car theres not much room. Not sure if right side or left side what would be best. If any one has a pic that would be great. thanks

Default WB O2 sensor

I think most poeple mount on the passenger side on the inlet pipe of the CAT. Factory CAT can accept a bung if some of the sheet-metal shield is cut back. RT CATs have no shield so it appears more obvious were the bung can go.

Default Before cats

I've heard that the best place to weld the sensor bung is on the downpipe right before the cat on the passenger side. However, like zfast13.8 mentioned, it doesn't look like there is a lot of space for someone to weld in that area. If you run test pipes, you can weld it directly onto the test pipe because there are no cats to effect the sensor reading.

I am thinking about the Dynojet Wideband Commander for an A/F gauge. It looks like a solid system and that gauge looks pretty good too.

Default O2 bung location

If you are running , or plan on a TT setup such as Greddy which has a cast iron downpipe, adding a bung thre is not an option.
Though there isn't much space, a bung can be welded pre-cat , on most aftermarket hi-flow cats. It jsut reuires some manipulation of the CAT heat shielding.

I read this post a few times and then it hit me what he meant and it's a great idea. Unless I am mistaken, you mean something like this picture I photochopped? My only question is can this be done while installed on the car, or does it need to be done off the car? I am just wondering how they make the hole in the pipe before they weld in the bung? Do they drill it out or use a plasma cutter? If they drilled it, I would be concerned with the shavings doing some damage. Or is that not an issue?

Default O2 bung

Yes , like shown on the Kinetix CAT. However; the bung shown is for the OEM pre-CAT sensor. Another bung needs to be added
in that same vicinity. Many have done this, I'm suprised none have responded yet. Actually if you by the Crawford Cats he'll
weld and extra bung in , for a small fee , before shipment.

No, actually that is the extra bung that I photochopped onto the picture. The stock Kinetix cats (which I have) do not have the extra bung there (like in this picture). The pre-cat sensor is actually on the stock manifold downpipe.

I stand corrected. Yes , do what was photo-shopped.

I would have to be done off the car I am guessing. Aside from the debris you mentioned getting into the cat, it would be nearly impossible to get a leak free weld the whole way around the bung while the pipe is on the car.

Well... CRAP! That's not what I wanted to hear. It took me 8 hours just to install the darned things. I might swing by a place near my house and see if they think they can do it while the cats are installed.I REALLY do not want to have to put the stock cat back on the passenger side just to go get a bung welded.
