Helix Test Pipes? Yay or nay.
okay, i just got my 350 (black on black!) and my friend said that these helix test pipes work well. did a search and seems like most of you like them, but some say they're not worth it. so should i get them or no?

I wouldn't recommend them. I had and took it out due to the annoying shitty sound they make even with the Greddy EvoII. Now with the Kinetix Cats the car sounds way better and the performance is about the same.
for the price $180 (otd) the gains are great. If you have an aftermarket exhaust the sound is not raspy but it actually sounds like a V8. I have the TT on mine and it pulled and sounded great. Yes you can notice the difference between the two (hp wise).
You guys are saying that cause you have TT. On a NA car it's a different story. I have tried with stock exhaust and with my currently Greddy EVOII and it's raspy no matter what. Unless you go forced induction or install a resonator on the pipes, it'll be raspy.

I have the exact same experience w/ Helix test pipes as Sick - they are raspy regardless of what you have or do on an N/A car - on a TT setup though, they are money - I will be switching mine out shortly for resonated pieces...
If you get them, get it from our sponsor Gruppe-S.

Have them on my G sedan with G35 Coupe midpipe and there is no 2800-3200 rpm rasp or rasp at all. I had gutted the cats on my ex-350Z and got more rasp. Could be the difference in muffler design between the two models.
