Default Finished DC Headers and Crawford High Flows Today

After about a 12 hour ordeal, I finished the install. I must say that the sound really did not change that much. I have a Greddy EVO on my G Sedan. The sound is a bit deeper. It is a bit louder at WOT, but not bad. The Injen still makes more noise than the exhaust.

Question, I have a slight vibration that seems to be coming from the pass side cat. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to where it would be? I have not really had a look down there yet and everything fit great. I bet it is the rattle from the heat shield that many have complained about.

Butt dyno says, "I don't think many horsepower gained". I'll have to dyno soon and see.

I think not only you need ecu reset, but also a TS ecu flash... I believe Crawford just completed a ecu for their packages, which includes the high flow cats, and headers.. the factory ecu probably will compensate the extra flow with normal settings..

Yeah! I want the reflash, but I also want a plenum. So, I am going to wait until I get the plenum in before doing the reflash. I'll reset the ECU tomorrow and let you know what happens.

Thanks for the help.

Yeah! That's part of the next upgrades...plenum and y-pipe. Finally, TS reflash.

What difference does it make to reset the ECU compared to not resetting when adding a mod such as headers? Is it something with the A/F ratio? Thanks in advance.

I think what happens is that the ECU "learns to run a certain way over a period of time. By resetting, it has to learn a new way to run so it can more easily adjust to changes made to the car. So, yes, I think the first thing that has to happen is that it needs to set the A/F ration.

Anyone?

Found my rattle by the way. I left a cat bracket bolt loose.

More than likely the rattle is the heat shield as you guessed. I banged my back some during install but it still rattles sometimes.

Found the rattle. I was a loose bolt on the cat bracket. I got under the car and tapped on everything and found it.

I got the computer reset and.....I can say that honestly, I don't feel much difference. I am kind of disapointed...

You really need about a 10% jump in horse power before it is obvious to the average butt dyno. If one's butt is a little more sensitive, then maybe a little less. In this vehicle that amounts to roughly 30hp. Your gains from headers and cats is probably around 10-12hp or so. The system should feel a little "freer", but 10hp won't even take a tenth of your 0-60 or 1/4 mile.
