I just installed these things on saturday and the cat under the passenger side is vibrating against the under carriage of the car. makes my car sound disgusting.
. borla TD & kinetix cats = awesome sound, but all i hear is that damn rattle. is there anyone else from the GB that is having the same issue?
Yup! That's what mine did too. it's actually vibrating against the heat shields on either side. Here's how to fix it. Get a nice, big flathead screwdriver or preferably a crowbar and bend the heat shields up so that they are not touching the cats anymore. That is what I did and the vibration was gone.

. Kinetix i am like the 3rd person to mention this, you guys may want to take another look at this. Your measurements may be off somewhere. I like the product though!

I had mine installed today but immediately had them removed after the installer, a professional who only works on Z's, advised me that he didn't think that it was a good idea to install a product that had to be modified or required modifying the car in order to fit. Even after doing the alterations mention above the clearance would be still very close resulting in rattling or worse heat transfer for the cats to the floor board and a potential fire hazard.
My car is a roadster so maybe there is a difference from the coupe that we didn't know about.

I had the same problem after instaling mine last week. I called them and told them the situation and they are sending me out a new drivers side cat. It will be here next week. Hope it fits better than this one.

In all honesty, the damn cats have always been a tricky issue with us.
We couldnt figure it out at first, so we beefed up the JIGS.
It seemed like no matter what we did though, about 1 in 8 sets had fitment problems.
I just personally built some SERIOUS jigs before I went out of town last week. So while they weigh about 50 lbs each (1/2" steel) we think they have eliminated all possibility warpage.
We also made more room on the jigs for welding, so ALL of the welding is done completely on the jig and cooled before removal.
Quick question though, when you say it hits the floorboard or the heatshield, does it hit the catalytic converter shell higher up towards the engine?, or lower towards the ground?

On mine I believe it was in the middle, though maybe very slightly toward the engine end, if I remember correctly.

i don't think my cats r tappin, but my borla resonators r. shop will look at it wednesday, while it's in for some power pulls to check my a/f. the passenger side cat didn't bolt up to the transmission brace like it should have. is that what it is called? they r goin to fab out the bolt hole to get it in then. could stop the tappin, i hope.

I was big in to the Corvette (C4) scene and every time we changed something on the exhaust we had to loosen all the bolts and tighten once at a time checking for movement along the way.
Being that the Z/G cars have flex sections in the exhaust means movement is expected. I think that the flex sections might be the culprit behind the movement.
Maybe users of the cats can have the brackets cut of the stock cats and welded to the Kinetix cats, this would give perfect fitament.
