Default New Intake option

Here is the new intake I mentioned earlier. The intake tube is made of aluminum and will come in: polished, chrome, or anodized: red, blue, black. A carbon fiber tube may also be available in the near future. The filter is a very high flow drop-in type stainless filter (drop-in replacement). The build of the kit is very high quality. The kit also includes two rubber sleeve to attach to pipe to the plenum and MAF tube.

This intake kit, makes use of the stock air box which is very well designed, shielding the filter from the hot engine bay. A ram-air duct may be an available option soon, and the filter and tube may be purchased separately. I would recommend the tube for those running the JWT pop-charger for a more customized look.

Thank and please keep us posted. If it produces good numbers at a GOOD price (hint hint) then i might switch to this setup and sell the popcharger to a friend.

An aluminum tube will get hot; the stock tube doesn't. This tube will look better (subjective opinion), but at the cost of performance (although the loss may be minimal to negligible).

every cold air intake on the market seems to use aluminum piping, as well as the intake tubes for turbos and superchargers..

As for the popcharger, you can use the intake pipe WITH the pop charger (will be sold separately)

why does it keep the stock mount part to the filter? It doesnt look like air will flow smoothly since it has those ripples.....

im worried about a "stainless" filter. I mean, how well can a metal mesh catch anything smaller than 50 microns? All wear materials are known to be from the 5-20 micron size..

the metal tube and stainless filter would be subject to heat soak....and the design appears to be exactly like stock....it looks perty though....what about the dyno?

i think this is more of a show mod rather than a performance mod. However a CF tube may be usefull since it has more heat resistance.

When do you think you will have a CF version?

noting the stainless filter, it is the same filter used by some of the top tuners in japan. I did not do the engineering on this but it definitely flows more air than the stock. I want to test it compared to the K&N drop in filter, but i dont have one at this time.

This is the same setup basically as the new 60k $ Nismo Z ...

stock airbox
metal tubing
high-flow filter

I guess if they put a Nismo badge on it, the thing would sell like hot cakes.

Sorry for bumping this thread up but i found a filter test. http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/filters_test/2/ According to the test the "metallic" Blitz filter produced more hp than the oiled K&N filter, but the K&N does have better filtration. Sooo, I wouldn't doubt this intake setup would produce a few more horses than stock. Anymore info on its release toykilla?
