Question What happened to Kinetix Racing aluminum intake manifold plenum

What happened to Kinetix Racing aluminum intake manifold plenum? Any update? Did they scrape that idea?

It looked really promising.

alot of companies have said stuff like that many times in the past, all the threads end with "we'll have dynos next week".

perhaps they all got it on a dyno, lost HP and quietly went back to the drawing board? its a tough challenge to make that work without losing lots of power somewhere in the band.

That is exactly what happened with the first version, though we havent been working on it in the past year since.

I know I said end of this month for our second prototype pictures, etc.

We are still full speed on this thing, we also have almost completely worked out the kinks on electropolishing in-house. We only set up the polishing for the one reason of this aluminum manifold, so it should be a statement to our dedication to the manifold.

We are also working on the JIG this week, so hopefully we will have some pics within a week.

Lsdunique,

What if we don't care about it being all pretty and shiny and just want an aluminum plenum rather than plastic? How soon could we get that?

haha, well I wish that the polishing method was the only holding it up.

We will only be selling them as polished. We had earlier thought of doing a satin and polished.

We are trying to keep up with orders, as well as customer service, and keep developing our new products.

Trust me I know the aluminum manifold would be a big hit if we can get some good numbers.

We have gotten most other things around here in good shape. We have been completely caught up for a while now, and new orders generally only take about 3 days before they ship so we are happy about that.

Cool to hear from you isdunique, as for the aluminum plenum, it is really the thing that made us sit up and take notice of your company. Kinda like the Vette for Chevy, the item that gets the attention to the company and makes peoples' blood flow. Hopefully it will come out so that we can purchase it.

Amen to that. this plenum is one of the only reason I am holding back on the APS Tall Boy plenum.

lsduniqie, Are you going to post flow numbers to compare flow from cylinder to cylinder? Or post the percentage of the difference of flow between all of the cylinders? I am very interested in your plenum, but I want the flow to be as equal as possible. How much shorter is the runner length compared to stock also?

LSD, while we're talking about cracking, I just want to commend you on the V4 plenum that I purchased from you during that group buy that went on a few months back - I've put over 6000 mi on it since, and it has been worry free... and the gains have been better than any other one product I have purchased so far... so I just wanted to say thanks for plugging along after all the negative publicity and producing a great product in the end...
