Default Which Test Pipes??

I am thinking I am going to buy some test pipes in the near future and was wondering which brand is best or some of you might recommend. I know there are Helix, Kinetix, and some others. Is there a difference in sound/quality.....etc between the test pipes out there or is it more or less choose your vendor??

Thanks

Whatever you get unless you like loud raspy sound get ones with resonators like Kenetix, that is what I have and like them.

Get some resonated ones if you like something quiet. I have the non-resonated helix test pipes and boy are they friggin loud.

Injen makes race pipes, I found them at ONE place on the internet. Now I can't find that site. I'm hoping somebody knows what I am talking about.

I used to have a Camaro SS and that was loud and Raspy. I really like the sound of the Z stock and I want to try and retain that sound but just be louder, obviously I'll need a catback for that also but I have the Greddy Evo2 in mind for that. It looks like the Kinetix test pipes should be the ones

I have the Kinetix Test Pipes (non res.) and removed the factory res. on the stock exhaust. VERY LOUD but sounds like ****, way to ricey. It sounds sick on the highway though, doing a fly by or something. But cruisin around town it sucks. It sounded good before i cut out the res. in the stock exhaust w/ just the Kinetix pipes.

I swapped in a set of Stillen race pipes. My exhaust was extremely loud to begin with (Tanabe) but now it is just insane, I am seriously considering getting a more low key exhaust as I want to keep my stillen pipes.

Definitely get resonated for a deep tone. Unlimited Tuning sells a set and the look awesome. You can also try Kinetix, but IMO i don't think the quality is as nice as the UT pipes.

any test pipes should bolt up to any cat back exhaust or factory or non factory y-pipe

im in the same boat as someone above

i had the injen exhaust to begin with which was loud but i liked it

then i got xerd test pipes...made it VERY loud and it sounded shitty at very important times...and by very important i mean WOT...at WOT you dont wanna be sounding raspy

after you put on test pipes you never wanna go back to stock cats cause the power loss might bother you

thats why im switching to kinetix resonated...ill let everyone know if the Injen/kinetix resonated combo is non raspy

There is only one test pipe out there that doesnt have the raspy sound everyone is talking about. But first let me tell you about this awfull sound. It sounds like your exhaust is rattling and loose.
Believe me only racecar drivers at the track like non resinated because they are wearing a helmet and cant hear it.
All they hear is the sweet part of the pipes. Even the test pipes with resinators make that sound every now and then and its anoying!
Call Tony at La Bree 818-704-7950 375.00 shipped and you will have a custom made test pipe with resinator polished and no( bumble bees made of metal in a coffee can) By the way the perfect set up is Tonys test pipes a good Y pipe and a Blitz Nur Cat Back I can guarantee you this is the sound everybody is trying to create. If you can afford it some ceramic DC Sport Headers is the icing on the cake. I have this set up and its perfect everyone who hears my car goes nuts its sounds like my ZX12R with its muzzy. The only expensive part I used was the Blitz about 1000.00 shiped the rest doesnt have to be expensive parts unless your going to supercharge or turbo your car cams ect. good luck get in touch if you like. Oh yeah La Brees never make that raspy horrible sickining broken metal vibrating falling apart ratteling noise.

... by the way, I just bought a set of resonated test pipes from these guys and they're ill.

By the way, the price is $375. If anyone called and got a price over $400, he told me to let you know he'll hook you up.

i have the helix test pipes and very happy with them. I was running it with a nismo exhaust and it was the meanest sounding exhaust. Then I switched the nismo exhaust for the Greddy EVOII and it sounds very quiet. be careful cause some test pipes don't have the bung for the O2 sensors.

hey guys. about the test pipes. while changing my tranny fluid the other day i noticed that our stock cats are wrapped tightly with a layer of some kind of foam and another layer of sheet metal. possible to act as a noise damper? cant we just simulate this on test pipes and get rid of the rasp? rasp is from having no cats, or from a thin steel constructed test pipe?

The pipes from La Bree have practicaly 0 rasp. There is no reason to look any further.
If you want your car to have the most power you have to use straight pipes. And these are the best on the market; set up for your o2 sensors, and have the least amount of rasp; almost none. Your done.

And there custom made..... Each order.
