Default Put in 5 liter instead of 5 quart engine oil!

I found out Moble 1 in Canada changed to sell in liter instead of quart after i put them in... Would this cause any problem with the extra 0.283 quart of engine oil?

Check your oil levels... if the level is above the "H" then you should probably drain it.

An overfull oil pan may lead to oil leakage through the pan gaskets and seals. Excess oil also can contribute to higher pressures and excessive vapors in the engine crankcase. If the oil level is extremely high, the rotating crankshaft may strike the oil and cause the engine to labor harder. This can reduce gas mileage and actually lead to premature engine wear.

its best to check the oil when the car has sat overnite, that way the oil splashes on the dipstick will have settled. At a minimum, wait 30 minutes after driving. You could even take the dipstick out while you wait.

If it's at the "H" on the dipstick, I would leave it as you're within limitations. If it's over the "H" then the only thing you can do is drain the oil... good luck doing "just some oil"

you can safely addd a quart to much with out worries. You really only have to worry if you put way to much in becasue it will blow by the rings and could possibly break one and will make the car smoke alot.

proper way to check the oil level on the dipstick is to pull it out, wipe it clean with a napkin or tissue, stick it back in, and pull it out again

I would not worry if you're oil is right at "H".

I've found that when I change my oil, I have to add about 10 oz. more that 5 qts. to be at the "H" line.

So that would equal 170 oz. and 5 liters equals 169 oz.

I know the dipstick is a b!tch to read but if it's at "H" you're OK.

EDIT: I've found that it's easier to see the oil level on the other side of the dipstick.
