Default front tires at wear indicators after 4.5K

I got new tires and an alignment last year and after 4.5k miles the outsides of my front tires are at wear indicators. I wish I would have just kept my old tires and the old settings. At 7.5k there was feathering but still a ton of tread left. 4.5k is absolutely radiculous. I have Hotchkis sways and I know the dealer point his finger at that as the cause. Could that have anything to do with that? Sways don't effect allignment. I'm over 24 months of ownership as well. Any sugestions about what i should do other then buy new tires and have an alignment shop set the toe back to negative or 0. thanks a bunch.

Your tire wear is an alignment problem. The sways shouldn't have any effect.

Do NOT offer any extra information about any mods you have performed to your Nissan dealer.

It gives them a chance to point a finger I have a stock car that has had the front tires replaced at Nissan's cost at 6.700, 12,500 miles.

At 20.700 I had Good Year Eagles installed all the way around on my dime by an Independent Tire and Brake shop.

Yesterday at 27.700 I had my front tires removed from the rims and a side to side rotation performed because the cupping/tire roar had returmed to the insides of the tires again!

I don't see much tire wear, but hate all the tire roar when braking and driving speeds of 35 mph or less.

Try another dealer. Don't pay for it.

I agree that it sounds like an alignment problem in this case, but sways (depending on how they're set up) can, in fact, accelerate tire wear on one or both ends of the car.

had the car examined by a dealer and get the load of this:

"Its normal wear".
Yes, according to Nissan, tread worn to the wear indicators on the outside after 4.5k miles is normal. I guess they expect me to replace tires every 5k miles.

Here is my diagnosis:
Nissan bribes you with new tires to submit to an allignment which will wear your tires to **** in 5k miles, but not show feathering. By then you are out of allignment warranty and they tell you to buzz off. What a scam.

I agree.
My front tires were changed at 10000 miles and now at 16500 my original rears are better.
I took it to an independent at 15000 and the alignment was corrected with good results so far.
not even feathering noise.
The dealer had the settings wrong, on purpose I believe
I will be trying some Michelin Pilots off my Firebird for a short while.

what are good alignment settings? 0 toe? mine was adjusted to the maximum alloweble tollerance. +1mm, which is crap. I too believe the dealer does that on purpose to increase wear and eliminate feathering in expense of tire life.
