Is this reason enough to replace the transmission?

Ok, i never thought I had this problem, and I thought it was probably due to driver's error, but now i'm pretty sure something is wrong with my transmission.
The only time when my car grinds is when I shift from 1st to 2nd at redline.
Either the car will have trouble getting into gear or it will just grind. I thought maybe the clutch wasn't pressed all the way or something, but that wasn't it. It's only when redlining though, not while driving normal.
So is this the same problem people are having? Grinding gears when driving hard? Or do your gears grind regardless of the way you are driving?
Thanks in advance.
BTW, the Z has 30k.

My opinion is that it is ultimately decided by the dealer you complain too.
My second tranny shifts like a Mac truck (2 step ordeal) Sucks!
