Default Gear hitting sound when it's Idle

Today while I was starting up my car, I could hear a popping sound coming from underneth the shifter, when my car it's idle while I'm sitting in the car. So then I got out the car and lay down on the ground next to the driver side door to hear it better. I could hear gear hitting sound coming out infront of the Y pipe, around the tranny area. Do you guys have this problem with your Z?? I got Manual.

I made an appiontment to have my car go in tomorrow already, but I've took my car in to the dealer for tranny problem for 6 times already, each time with different issue, but everytime they just tells me that "theres no problem with the car, that's the way the car it's desgin" I'm afraid they gonna tell me the same this time. What should I do if they tell me that again.

They are definitely going to tell you that again as the car does making a popping sound from near the cats when it is at idle. I would suggest you relax and enjoy the drive instead of straining your ears listening for every bump, rattle, and pop so you can take it to the dealer.

The transmission on our cars is a pretty loud one. Unless performance is affected I or there is a really loud noise I would say it's probably normal.

Default "Normal"

I took my car in for the noise yesterday. If you turn off the car while it is in neutral, the noise is really loud, as it is on mine. The dealer stated it's the pressure plate, and is completely normal. I had him start a brand new Z to convince me. Although the sound was less, it definetly was there.

Isnt the transmission and motor exactly the same? I would think you wouldnt hear it AS much in a G then a Z, there is alot more car to that thing, and probably more sound material. Why knock the Z?
