I am interested in the same thing. I'd like to unlock both doors with one button push.
I don't really get the idea behind this two stage unlocking process. If anyone could explain the purpose of it, it might make me feel better. Some information on how to reprogram it would be appreciated even more.

Another thing that I would like to reprogram is the 5-minute delay that the headlights stay on after engine shut-off. My wife's Pathfinder turns the headlights off when the door is opened. Perfect! I don't want my emergence from the car to be accompanied by the buzzer!

Thanks!

The purpose of the 2 stage is a saftey feature. If you are in a parking lot, for ex., and you only had a one touch for both locks, you could unlock both doors, potentially letting a carjacker or homeless guy crawl into the car with you, whereas with the 2 stage button, it will only let you in.

I hate it, but also respect it.

When someone figures out how to reprogram it, also make it where you can arm the alarm with AND without the horn honking, like a viper alarm (hit button 2, then one)

Well, it's usually my wife that can't crawl into the car when I forget to hit the button twice. And I'll do anything to avoid THAT LOOK! Even let the homeless guy in!

You mean you don't open the door for your wife? You might get a different look if you did...

Actually, I do, but I feel just as stupid when I stand there, pulling the handle of the locked door.

Should we create a poll to see if this dual-stage unlocking is seen by the owners as a real safety feature or as a nuisance?

I've always hated the enforced safety, such as automatic seat belts (chokers) or central locks that automatically lock all doors when the vehicle starts moving (minivans). Let me explain why.
In my opinion, the probability of getting in a car crash and losing the ability to get out on your own is far greater than that of having a homeless guy crawl in. In such situation the people that come to help might not have anything to break the windows with, just their bare hands.
Same goes for the probability of me needing to get in my car and get moving FAST. Oh, yes, my wife, too!

We now have two Nissans in the family... For our thumbs' sake, someone, please, post a solution if you know it!
